I'm sure there is a NATO graveyard somewhere just full of them. You just have to find it. Princess auto sometimes has 24v surplus stuff i think they have an online catalogue.

If you can find a Hella dealer (should be fairly common), then here are some part numbers:

Disc type 24V horns:

95370 - Low tone 335 Hz.

85121 - Supertone horn (loud) Low tone @ 310 Hz.

85112 - Supertone horn High tone @ 380 Hz.

Air Horn Kits 24V:

95315 - Dual trumpet...Low @ 795 Hz, High @ 840 Hz.

Your best bet is one of the disc type horns since it will fit behind your grill like the factory ones. If you want something really loud, get two of the Supertone ones...one high and one low. Lordco sells these here in BC.

My favorite is the early 70s four horn Cadilac set. They sound *just* like a train on 24V.

Since I couldn't find a set of those I used a two horn 12v set from Canadian Tire ( the red ones ) on 24V. Quite loud.

You could always wire two of them in series to make them last on 24V, Bruce.

Yes I could but then they would sound more or less like every other car on the road. What fun would that be? Actually Charla's 42 has the same horns and they sounded really good when the voltage regulator was allowing the alt. to run over 32V.

owwwwwww,

just got off the phone with lordco #85112, 85121 are $75 each!!

CHEAP... I NEED CHEAP... LIKE ME.... CHEAP!

so i guess no one has a good used pair, i'll have to keep burning out 12v junk yard ones.
