22re wont rev past 2000 rpm

First time poster , long time toyota fan.
I have a 1995 toyota truck 5 speed 2 whell drive. 22re i just picked this truck up. 134k on motor, ran great for about a week.
Now the truck wont rev past 2000 rpm, it just goes back to idel. starts fine runs good ( other than not being able to rev past 2k)
it looks like its getting fuel , i changed cap a roter.
The trouble started right after i presure washed the engeen.
any help or sugegestion would be gratly appreshated

Probably got water in the TPS or some other connector. Pull apart each connector you can find under the hood one-by-one, dry it out (compressed air works well), spray some WD40 in it, and reconnect.

i would even pull off the air inlet hose, and look to make sure the throttle plate is opening.
and also check for codes.

change the fuel filter... that may help a lot... did you do the wires too? they could have gotten wet and be causing resistance.
