I own a 22R in my 1984 toyota Pickup 4x4 and there is a gentleman that is selling the 22RE what is the benefit to getting the RE and will it work in my Toyota:doh:

It will work in your Toyota, but it will also be work. ;p

Are you talking swapping components or the whole engine?
Do you have a donor vehicle?

Components swap info here - 22R to 22RE swap FAQ - Pirate4x4.Com Bulletin Board

Whole engine swap - You would need the ECU and entire engine harness, oxygen sensor, EFI fuel pump (don't know if you have to have tank and everything), probably the airbox and intake hose........ etc

There are definitely things I am forgetting at the moment, maybe you can have a mod move the entire thread to mini section?

I would start reading through that Pirate link and google 22R to 22RE (conversion, swap, etc.)

You've got a lot of reading to do. :D

Go here and at the bottom right are the moderators, PM one of them and see if you can get the thread moved.

Make sure you've got your opinions in user cp set to receive private messages.

Good luck

This thread needs to be moved, and I'm too tired to explain in depth so I'll just paraphrase.

EFI; More power, fuel economy, and the engines last longer.

Otherwise,

LC Engineering
