Lexus f*cked up on their head's up display for 2025 by removing the RPM feature. (My 2023 LX600 has the RPM in the HUD...)

Dealership told me Lexus was skimping to save a few pennies in code.

Pathetic.

Lesson 1: never trust dealerships

Lesson 2: read the manual

It's how I found out that you change the HUD to a tach by 1. Making the HUD display mode "full" and 2. changing the cruise control mode to "normal" (non adaptive) by pressing the button on the steering wheel twice.

Edit: oh, and also you have to disable lane centring with another steering wheel button.

DEALER FAIL!

That worked like a charm.

Thank you very much!

Now I just need to figure out how to operate the locking feature on the rear hatch. Does anyone else have problems with this too?

If you press the lock button on the hatch while standing underneath it or very close, let it beep once and then walk away. It “should” work every time that way.

Ok good so not a warranty issue. Who thought of that s*** 😅.

Its so you can hit the button and get stuff and walk away, I know, but maybe make a third button for that or allow us to hit it twice to just shut and lock.

Some stuff on this car makes me think multiple departments had too much input and things got weird.

So every time I want the HUD to display RPM i need to depress the cruise control button twice because it defaults to the adaptive display.

Luxury problems, but Lexus screwed up this feature badly.

That feature is also pure garbage. I stopped using it after a few tries.....

Yeah agreed, I think it should be able to save the setting, but I'm not too fussed because I like pressing buttons, especially when I start the car. I'm just glad it's not hidden behind menus in a touchscreen.

Works every time for me? Stand there for a half second. Make sure your keys and phone are not in the same pocket.

It works maybe 20% of the time for me. But by god I try to make it work every damn time, wonder what people think as I walk away and walk back.

I use the wallet key though. But I don’t know why that would make a difference.

Kind of a let down as I actually use the rear cargo area for work stuff and the streets and parking are always tight around here which is annoying as I have to walk around the vehicle. My assistant thinks its funny my emotional tie into the feature working, how happy or let down I am with it 😅.

I know I bitch about the transmission and throttle mapping but I am about to throw the tunes on it to hopefully resolve that (be patient I can’t get a couple hours free). This feature I am not too sure I can fix.

As far as my gripe about the floaty suspension it actually smooths out around 10-15k miles after it breaks in.

Wallet key is likely the culprit .

I use the standard key fob and only iffy feature I've run into is the kick-sensor.

This is the answer. I have the same result. I do not think the wallet key is strong enough for the car to pick it up. If I use the regular key it works every time.
