Hey everyone,

I’ve got a 2019 Toyota Land Cruiser 200 Series and, so far, all I’ve done is the basic oil changes. I want to get more involved with maintaining it myself and keep everything running smoothly. Bought 12/2022 with 72k miles and currently sitting at 99k miles.

For those who have experience with the 200 Series, what kind of maintenance should I be focusing on that might not be obvious?

Are there any specific things I should keep an eye on with the 4x4 system? Is there separate maintenance for that?

I did my oil at the dealer since I figure it’s not that expensive, and they gave me a whole list of things they recommended, I lost it lol, but even the service guy said it wasn’t really necessary to do all those things.

And if something is relatively inexpensive/easy to service I’d do them even if not necessary. I’m not much of an ‘car guy’ so even with searching and reading through the forums I’m still a bit lost. any tips or suggestions for things I can handle myself would be great!

So what would you do hitting 100k? Thanks all!

It depends on the service history but if it were mine, I'd do all of the fluids (coolant, front diff, rear diff, center diff, transmission, power steering and brake fluid) along with the engine and cabin air filters. PCV valve is very easy. Your radiator is a newer design so it's not prone to crack like the pre 2018. It would also be good to inspect for coolant leak in the valley plate. I don't think water pumps are a replace at 100k item. Be careful and buy the correct oil for the center diff that is kind to the yellow metals in there.

Others have asked too. Here’s a thread with a spreadsheet of 200 maintenance items. You can also do a search on Mud using google and find more 100k mile threads.

Seconding this. I did everything listed above at 100k, except for diffs/tcase and pcv valve, which I did at 80k when I purchased.

here is what I do...

Diffs F/R and Center - 40k miles
Coolant - 60K miles (probably overkill)
Transmission flush - 60k miles
Brake Fluid - 2 years
Lub drive shaft - every oil change
Engine oil- 5w30 - 5k miles...

trying to think what else from a basic maintenance perspective.... I do everything but the transmission Flush and Brake fluid at home and brakes/rotors, and that kinda of stuff..

Lots of good info above. If you want to post the recommended services your dealer gave you, please do. Maybe they actually found stuff on inspection? Or maybe they just broke your recirculating door and then added it to the list. Jk. I hope.

Anyways, this forum is a WEALTH of solid info and reference material going forward. Enjoy the 200!
