Purchased a 2016 LX570 (120k miles) late last year. Have enjoyed it so far with only one minor issue now resolved (Mark Levinson amp went bad). One thing we have noticed is that the AC is not very responsive. When it is hot, we don't see much response until we really lower the temperature and then it takes quite a few minutes. It seems that it does respond quicker when we are on the highway and cruising vs stop and go driving. I had thought initially that perhaps this was related to RPMs. Now I am not so sure. Could it be just low refrigerant?

Yes, the symptoms could be low refrigerant. If that’s the case, there is a leak that needs to be fixed.

I’d still check the recirc flap in front of the glove box. Many are broken and it can lead to all kinds of weird AC behavior, and checking is easy to do at home without a shop visit.

But yes it does sound like it could be a refrigerant issue.

Within Techstream (or the Launch tool) you can do two things: 1) make an offset to the set temperature. I believe you can go up to +/-3F. Yours might be offset. 2) there's a setting that performs a refrigerant check at startup. I've not turned it on, but it might show if the level it low.

Also, not sure where the cabin ambient sensor is in the 200, but in the 100 it has ducted negative air pressure connected to it. This results in the sensor being covered with lint over time. Cleaning it off occasionally will restore correct sensing.
