2016 Lexus GX 460 Radiator Leak (7 Viewers)

I have a 2016 Lexus GX460 that I just discovered a leaking radiator. The GX has 108,000 miles on it. Popped the hood and noticed the pink chalky substance around the radiator upper intake hose. I thought it may be the actual hose or hose clamp. However, I noticed that it is leaking above the hose. The aluminum and plastic on the radiator is where the leak resides. It is currently in the shop getting another one put in. Is there anything else that we need to look into replacing while the radiator is being replaced? I have had no signs of temperature gauge fluctuating or over heating. I believe that I caught this leak just at the start. I ment to get pictures, but completely forgot before dropping it off.
 
The hoses at a minimum. When I did my radiator, I didn't do anything else besides hoses. Water pump and thermostat would be easier with the radiator and fan out but are still a decent amount of work.
 
Hoses are lifetime. Don't change them unless they are damaged. Been told this by two different Lexus dealers.

I would change the overflow tank hose though. I recently changed mine as my radiator wasn't sucking back from the overflow.
 
For many other vehicles they sell a water side kit, they were more common years ago. But the GX seems to have many of the same water side issues at ~100K. Luck of the draw. Based on reports here and on FB when I get to 100K and if I decide to keep it I will:
Replace Radiator, Water pump, idler pulley, pulley tensioner, serpentine belt, hoses, hose clamps, and thermostat.

I don't get cell phone reception in many places that I go and too old to do a walk out in most of them. To me it is a matter of risk assessment. It should also be cheaper to get it all done at once instead of piecemeal.

At 108 k miles, that sounds about right for a radiator replacement. Then you can do all your hoses and belts too. I replaced mine at just under 100 k. Unfortunately I didn't have the presence of mind to get a better, ALL aluminum aftermarket radiator, and just replaced with a factory one. So I guess I'll be swapping that out at around 200 k.

Yup, I have a heavy duty all aluminum radiator on order. Mine failed last year and the only one they could get was from a parts store.

In addition to what the others have said, if you do any towing, now is a good time to add a tranny fluid cooler. I just replaced mine a few months ago with a stock Lexus unit and added a TF cooler. I got 150k out of the first one so why not. I never heard that the hoses were lifetime and don’t know that I would trust that. Cheap enough to do it while swapping out the rest.

Lifetime is 60k if you tow anything, carry anything on your roof or do regular off-pavement travel. I wouldn't call it insurance but maybe good practice to replace a cheap hose while doing a coolant exchange. Belt too.
