the first thing i notice is they took away the tan interior and made it all black, offering only black or terra (burgundy) seats --

-- major fail!

This would keep us from buying one...

Most colors (even black) only come with black leather. Ridic.

For us, black leather is a complete no-go regardless of the outside color.

The interior stuff is just plan crazy also; would love to speak to who is in charge of this! The sales offers just don't make sense; it has to be some sort of story either the dealerships don't want to carry or some other story

It's sad, though the big T seems to have stuck a fork in the 200 series... nobody wants a $85K truck with only seat color as the interior option, and only two very similar colors at that.

I love my 2014 more!

Also, it appears that the NAV system is a dinosaur carryover? As long as the bluetooth works on mine, I'm happy -- and it always does -- :)

Looks to me like there is more to come. Right now in the Toyota build and price tool, the only exterior colors you can get are metalic black, metallic white, or dark blue. The rest of the colors are showing not yet available (out of inventory) , I am thinking maybe the interior options may change as well as more exterior colors options become available.

I am getting all of the colors available to choose. The front end of this thing is reminding me more of a Sequoia -- will be interesting to see the LX config!

The way it's going, in a few years, we'll be able to get the 2019 300 in any color as long as it's black, ... on black for a cool 100 grand :) Maybe they are just pushing everyone to get an LX. They figure, if they can make it unappealing enough and expensive enough, they can still say that they offer them in the US without having to sell any

you're pretty right there -- as it is, the dealers want to turn corollas much more than they want to figure out the oddball cruisers...

I don't think there is much cause for alarm yet. This looks like nothing more than a VERY minor tweak...while they wait for the 300 series. I mean really...nearly nothing substantive have changed at all. Toyota does this quite often...like the sudden creation of their "TRD Pro" line...including what really just amounted to funky new colors, suspension upgrades, and a few styling tweaks to existing Tundra, 4-Runner and Tacoma vehicles.

ONE YEAR LATER? All new Tacoma.

I think this will snag a few "gotta have the latest mall cruiser" types. The rest of the world? -They'll wait for the real changes and then decide.

My 2 cents... But like others have said about their existing cruisers... The low miles, 2008 200 I just bought (to replace my fully-built-up...but aging 100 series...)is looking better and better to my eyes with each new press release. :)

Not to be a contrarian, but I personally like the fact that the tweaks are minor and that most of the things I like about my '13 will be preserved albeit slightly warmed over. I can't wait to buy one - and I love the "Terra" interior. $80k+ utes aren't very uncommon anymore, but, crude interiors are. I think it looks nicer inside. If I'm making side by side comparisons, you can say the center stack has a tacked on quality - and so do the rear screens. By contrast, the current stack looks antique, and the rear screen ancient and is unused in my rig. I generally like incremental changes, and mid-cycle refreshes. I guess that makes me one of the "gotta have the latest mall cruiser" types.

As much as I dislike the large dual back seat screens ... can the system play Blu-Ray discs yet?

Tierra just looks like brown...not burgundy. Not bad!. I agree on the screens...they do look a good bit modern, albeit tacked on there...May depend on the 'feel' in person though.

I love the white ext and "Tierra" interior, but WTF with those rear screens! but, lets face it, its about $55,000 more than I can afford. A guy can dream right?

Hi everyone! This forum is pretty neat and most people seem pretty cool! I am not a Land Cruiser owner yet but hope to be in the near future! Saving up :) I have been looking at a 2014 which is nice, have spent a lot of time researching. However regarding the 2016, I do like the look of it better, but I have a couple concerns.. Of course I would prefer beige interior, not black.. As it looks night and day difference.. But here is where my bigger concerns are, first is more minor... 1. Led lights- As much as advertising says led lasts forever, they don't! not sure so much on cars but on houses many brand new ones have only lasted a short time.. Anyhow I know how many different led sets for houses (I would assume can't be all that much different then car systems) When one led light fails, they are not made to replace that one tiny led light but rather the complete assembly.. Could be true for the new Land Cruisers.. I do like how they have an 8 speed tranny, as I have heard that towing higher speeds the 6 speed tranny has problems staying at higher revs then it should (while towing) Wasting a lot of gas..

Anyhow biggest problem I am concerned about with the 2016 Land Cruiser is the ****Toyota Safety Sense**** crap... 1st of all I know how to drive and last thing I want is my vehicle to automatically brake when I don't want it to.. (for pedestrians, vehicles, etc.. ) Can this new system be easily and permanently disengaged? I would not want a sensor to automatically brake because of a pedestrian, it could cause a bigger accident.. Also this world is getting crazy and say some random lunatic runs out in front of your car trying to car jack you (and Toyota dumb sense automatically slams on the brakes and there ya go sitting duck..) See who can shoot first.. I want control of my vehicle, not my vehicle having control. And yes I have been the driver when a group of 5 guys (on pcp) tried to car jack me many years ago on ice! So I may be a little more sensitive to driver control of a vehicle, then others.. But in Reality I am against any vehicle, plane, etc. Being self driving/flying. Or being able to take over the vehicle.. Not too mention how easily can a system like this be hacked? If not into the computer via some kind of frequency, but I would imagine a laser or something of the sort could trigger the system to engage. Common sense isn't all that common is it... Compromise after compromise... Next thing you know we won't even be able to control our own cars...

Thoughts?
I would love a 2016, white with tan interior... 8 speed tranny, with NO SAFETY DUMB SENSE ***built in brake controller (or at least a good spot to put it under the main controls (not under the steering wheel) Like I did with my 13' 4runner, left of the usb port.. Does the 2015 land cruiser where that piece opens in the middle bottom.. have enough room for a brake controller? Anyone do custom installs? I do not want a brake controller in the way of my legs..

My .02: a.) OEM LED headlights inherently have more stringent design and manufacture tolerances than aftermarket LEDs and b.) Give Toyota some credit that they've tested out the LEDs for use on the LC/LX platform...

I much prefer black leather and avoid tan, but I know there's many who feel exactly the opposite. I'm surprised that their isn't a beige option on the '16. Perhaps there will be in the future...

Sounds like you should consider an armored LC (or maybe a Batmobile), if not, perhaps test drive one -- I haven't found the safety features to anyway impede on the driving experience or sense of control that I have when behind the wheel.

I don't have a brake controller installed, but have to surmise that there's sufficient real estate to locate it out of the way. People have posted elsewhere regarding their experiences installing them.

Whether you decide on a '14 or '16, you'll be happy. Good luck!
