Is anyone interested in planning a wheeling trip in 2015 besides Fall Crawl and Coal Miner? GSMTR is an obvious choice but I'd be interested in some of the other events within a day or two's drive as well. Here's a link to the 2015 TLCA events. What do you guys think?

moab is only a day and a half drive :) if you've never been to Cruise Moab, it is incomparable...

That's true. And one day I hope to make it out to cruise moab but I think we should try to support some of the smaller events/chapters that don't get as much shine.

That being said... If we have a contingent headed to Moab next year I'm in! :)

I am interested in getting out to more events as well as having a couple club runs this spring. My goal is to schedule a wheeling or wrenching event once a quarter, in addition to the regular events. Wheeling 2 times a year is not enough for me.

Do you guys know anyone with diesels that's pretty open to giving advice around here?

Vince at Forge Specialties (@Skrewball here on 'mud) is our resident professional mechanic. I am open to giving advise, but not necessarily the good kind.
But, now that you've opened the bag, you must post your question to the club... we are a curious lot. :grinpimp:

Thanks for the reply...for starters I want to talk about setting the timing. I'm hoping someone local is versed and willing to tinker with me on it. Taking it to mechanic defeats my educational/fun part of it!

does anyone local have an fj60 that has the gas tank removed or a parts car? I need some dimensions and need to crawl under one with tank already removed. Thanks!

I've been working on my 6.2 for a few years and have worked on a diesel Kubota tractor. What are you working on, and what do you want to know?

I'll like to check the timing. 12ht, straight 6 cylinder. Need to pick up timing light if you have any suggestions. I feel like this will be more in line with a tractor engine... thx

As a family trip, we are going out to Colorado in either July or Aug. The plan is to camp in a couple spots and go out exploring during the day. I'm planning to get Amy's long overdue CJ project done for this trip.

I think we are planning it around 9 days, maybe more.. we usually try to do a weekend to weekend so we only take off a week from work. If my boss allows it, I may take off more time!

It would be pretty cool to see some of you guys out there too....
