Time to start a build thread for our new to us 2015 Toyota Land Cruiser. This will be a very minimal build and will be over a long period of time, since its the wife's daily. We traded in our 2016 Chevrolet Silverado Z71 that we thought would be our last mom mobile for a while, but it wasn’t up to par in several categories. Also the wife was ready to be back in a large suv like her old Tahoe.

Once we decided it was time for the Silverado to go I narrowed down the replacement to a Yukon XL, new Expedition, Sequoia, and LC200. We needed a people hauler and tow rig for a camper we aim to get in 2019. After owning my lx470 for nearly a year we both grew to love it and that played a big part in deciding what our new replacement would be. We test drove a Sequoia and a 200. The wife preferred the 200 by a good margin. I already wanted the 200 over the sequoia, but ultimately came down to her decision.

I shopped for a few months and found two that met my qualifications in Tennessee. We ended up going to Nashville and got this one. We bought it with 110,000 miles on January 14, 2019.

The mod list I can envision will be slider steps and tires, but not in any hurry to start racking of mods since I've got the LX for offroad activities and exploring.

The first picture, note the old Z71 in the background. Out with the old in with the older.

Wife had to use the trailer the other day, and when I went to park the trailer the yard was super wet from all the rain. I decided it was time to play with all of the magical buttons. First mud on the tires. These Michelin's are awesome on the road and have plenty of tread left, but they leave little to be desired off road. I cant wait til these wear out and we can toss some AT tires on there.

First road trip, off to Disney we go. 7 hours there about a each way. Enjoyed the ride, had it on cruise 85 the whole way and got an average of 16 ish mpgs. Loaded down and plenty of room for all of the “necessities” the wife brings on trips.

Before going to Disney I did the first oil change. I went ahead and converted the oil filter housing cap over to the metal Toyota one, part number15620-31060. Such a pita to change the oil on this thing. I bought a fumoto valve F-103N for the drain, but it didn’t arrive in time. I’ll put it on in 10,000 miles for the next oil change.

I had an awesome parking spot at the Disney resort we stayed at. I could see it from my room and it was an end spot.

Look what was waiting on me when we got home from Disney, a full set of husky liner weather beaters from eBay ($300) and the window vent visors from partsouq part number 08611-60880. They got here faster than the floor mats.

After owning for over a month I finally got to flex the suspension. Mall crawling at the local walking park when the lot was empty. Here you can see my trailer hitch pin I previously installed. Master lock recover lock 3.5” long for 5/8” hole for those wondering. My old one was too short and wouldn’t fit. I also previously installed led reverse bulbs, don’t have any pics of this.

Got the floor mats installed. I’ve had several sets of weather techs in the past and haven’t loved them. They always warped and would get in the way. Hope these work out for us. I wish they made the xact contour model for our cruisers as they are more rubbery.

Got the visors installed today. Pictures below, please ignore all the finger prints haha. Upon installing the last plastic river deal, I noticed one was missing. Anyone know where I can find an extra?
