Looks like the cruiser community will be well represented! I count 8-9 trucks on the list just from the screen names I know. Anyone been where Dave's coordinates show out near Canyon Sin Nombre?

Canyon Sin Nombre??? The site looks to be on the east side of the hills towards the train tracks. Same place it was a few years ago (2012?) before they starting having it out at the Bradshaw Trail.

Looking at the Google map, it's nowhere close to the train tracks where it was a few years ago using search of the coordinates. It's off Vallecito Creek Road and Arroyo Tapiado. Quick search on google tho does bring up a blog from 2012 when we were off the rail road tracks near Split Mountain. Not sure now!

Edit - google maps must be all :censor: up. Bing maps shows the coordinates to be right on the railroad tracks near split mountain and the trestle where we were in 2012.

Looks the same as 2012. I'm scheduled to work that weekend, but if I can get it off I'm in!

Boyd - don't forget to RSVP over on American Adventurist just in case. You can be one of the many that cancel last minute if you have to. I'll be nice to see you again. I'm not doing Moab this year. Offer letter from Scottsdale is due to me this week and if it comes, I'll be back to month end closes and out of Moab permanently again.

I will not be able to make it this year.:(

I was just out there a few weeks ago and the silt beds on the way in are worse than in 2012. I did a night run from Split Mtn road down to Plaster City and had to stop several times in the silt beds when the vehicle in front of me kicked up too much dust and I literally could not see the end of my hood.

Sorry you won't be able to make it Dan!

Is Plaster City just further down the road along the tracks? Worth a visit?

Yes, it is just down the road along the tracks about 20 miles or so. Is it worth visiting? Not really. It does dump you out along I-8 a few miles from Ocotillo (not Ocotillo Wells) and the S-2. A good short cut if you want to go visit the Lazy Lizard bar in Ocotillo and the Dos Cabezas area.

Oh I made sure to register first, then post here!:flipoff2:

Are any runs planned? I wouldn't mind going out Fish Creek wash to split rock and down to the base of Heart Attack Hill. Haven't been out that way for several years. Maybe on the way back take a jaunt through Sandstone Canyon.

Runs are not 'officially' organized. There may be a thread started over on AAV at some point organizing some runs, otherwise it's up to individuals to do what they please.

A run out Fish Creek with a stop at the Wind Caves then on out exploring the washes, etc. sounds like fun. I haven't looked in quite awhile. Sandstone close by too?

What Brent said. We'd be up for Fish Creek and the Wind Caves, the kids haven't been out there before and it's been a long time for me.

FYI on the Wind Caves for dog owners - they aren't allowed up the trail to the caves.

State Parks... They love dogs... just not on trails or at least most of them:confused:

 You should know! :flipoff2:

Boyd had to leave Bubba to guard the trucks several years ago since he couldn't join us on the hike. He did a great job too! Too bad as I'd guess he one of the few dogs to have hiked the entire trail around Hole In The Rocks out in the Mojave Desert...National Park! He did a superb job on the rings up the back side...with a little assistance of course. Boyd got the raw end of that deal.

I'm signed up to come out and play. With out any facilities, most of my family will stay home. Travis and I are looking forward to seeing everyone.

I'm going to try to head out to the west end of Fish Creek Wash by Split Rock and Heart-Attack Hill and possibly Sandstone Canyon on the way back time permitting if anyone wants to join me. I want to try the truck on some rougher terrain. Wind Caves are neat if you've never seen them before, but...
