IMHO, a good asking price point is blue book + 50% of the mods cost. Then it becomes a matter of what the mods are worth to someone.

Unfortunately, some mods actually detract from the appeal of the vehicle due to narrowing of the buyer pool.

Just bought a 2014 16,070 miles for $59,900 Certified from a Toyota dealership in Tx.

OP - it looks like you just bought this one back in October from the quoted post above. Why are you selling so soon? If you want to sell, please provide more info. I know a lot of people have eyes on this forum, so the more you provide the better your luck will be.

It's like a house. It is worth what someone will pay for it. The existing owner always thinks it is worth more than it will ever sell for.

Good luck!

Respectfully, LC's this year and mileage are going for around 55-57k right now. The mods are only worth it to a buyer who would perform those exact same mods and they see the value in it. Even then, expect to discount the cost you paid in mods by a good percentage. If you find a buyer here on mud, I'd expect it to sell for around 62-65k.

Yep.....in fact I was offered a 2015 ( after a bit of negotiation) today for $58K by a reputable dealer. It had 26,000 miles, perfect shape and perfect history and condition. That was a hell of a deal , but they are out there. It is 2017 now folks. Dealers are having to move some old inventory and it is a great time to be buying. Sure this one I was offered had no mods but the mod situation has been pretty well stated. I'm about to do a trip across Russia and the mods I need are quite a bit different. Your guesstimate of it bringing 62-65K in my opinion is a pretty good guess if the right person comes along. It's a great looking rig ........

This post is full of fail. What a tease. Sell it or don't.

Different animal all together, but I have a 15' Ram 3500 srw with the cummins, AEV lift, wheels, 37's, front and rear arb lockers, Nitro gears.
paid 55k for the truck new, have 17k in aftermarket. 45 thousand miles. Asked out of curiosity what my dealership would give me for it, $29K!
And this was four months ago. He said if it was stock, he would give me $36K. Hmmmm... I think Ill keep it.
carmax didnt even want my truck.

That sounds about right.

I only wish it worked the other way around too though. How many times have you gone to look at a new truck and the one you want comes with thousands of "dealer added extras" like pinstriping, door edge guards, nitrogen in the tires, etc? I had this come up recently when buying my wife's new minivan. You should've seen it, it was awesome. I used the sale guys' own whiteboard to explain to him how useless nitrogen in a minivan's tires was, and equivalently what I was willing to pay for all of their extras. Haha. They were desperate to move units so I wrote out two checks, one for $33K under the condition they remove all the extras, and one for $32.5K as is. We eventually settled on $33K as is and they didn't charge me a dime for the extras.

That's what I am talking about!!!! #Strong

If you're soliciting offers I will toss one in; $30K?

Bloembuild...that is pretty bad. 3 months ago I traded a 2014 Ram 1500 4x4, totally loaded with options, and got 35K. Mine was totally stock and had 5500 miles. I really took a beating on that deal but just decided to say the hell with it. I wasn't using it much obviously...but now wish I had kept it. Miss it so much I came across the AEV site. I've been pricing Ram 2500 4x4's, with the diesel cummins. I want to do the AEV suspension lift and run 40's, full lockers, and a 16,000 lb winch. I started looking at them and just couldn't resist such a beast. I guess I need it about as much as a hole in my head. But I'll write it off as a biz vehicle and use it to pull a car hauler now and then. Only go around once and I'm seeing more gray hair every month. :))

Thank you SpeedKiller,:) I respect your view and opinion. If the shoe was on the other foot I would be all over this truck at your price assessment. This whole thread started by my being curious about posts regarding buyers looking for trucks for sale. I'm being to regret ever posting. Shark tank? Oh and I did state 'make an offer'

Curios...I would like to hear why you, or anybody thinking like you, would "expect to discount the cost you paid in mods by a good percentage." If the mods were just purchased and installed? Why would someone just lay down and expect to take a lose at a "good percentage"? Wouldn't everybody else have to pay the same price for said mods?

I encourage enlightenment.

I bet your momma told you that you we're special a lot as a child. Everything you're selling is used. Period. No one will pay you what you paid for them new nor should they pay a dollar for the labor costs to install them. You'd be lucky to get $.75 on the dollar for the parts and $.50 is more likely. Post like this should simnply be removed from the classifieds.

You are actually adding your installation costs to your quote? Wow..that's a first for me.. I'd say it's between 56-60k based on what I've seen in the market.
