Hello all,

I have a new to me 2014 LC. I've searched the forums for interior water leaks and really only getting the floorboard / electronics / console leaks and troubleshooting.

Any time it rains or a car wash, this highlighted drivers side pillar area will become quite wet. I briefly checked out the sunroof drains this weekend and seemed okay; i.e. ran about 10ft of weed whacker line through, couldn't see it come out anywhere, but was going somewhere.

Has anyone come across this problem? Usually wouldn't be too big of an immediate problem, but it's rainy season here in Seattle! Help! :)

Thank you!

It's possible that one of the sunroof drains is cracked/disconnected. If you pour water into the sunroof tray does it get the B-Pillar area wet?

Any chance that one of the roof rack feet were manipulated in a way that would allow a leak to start?

This is a good image of what it looks like under there (credit @daeojkim). Link.

Hi LC, I'll have to get in there tomorrow to inspect (both roof rack and sun roof drainage. Thanks for the link and photos (that project looks like a monumental task)!!!

Can you tell whether the incline the vehicle is parked on makes a difference?

Is there any moisture above your head near the sunroof? I had this issue in heavy rain. The water would get the whole front left side of the sunroof wet. The moisture then would roll down the a pillar and just to the left of my head above the door. It ended up being clogged sunroof drain.

I ended up using a trimmer line. There are probably better options but that is all I had available.

Have you tried pouring a small amount of water into the drain pan to make sure it actually drains out? I saw that you used trimmer line but wasn't sure about the water.

I know with my LX570 they had a recall on the driver shoulder restraint system (seatbelt) and had to replace the assembly in that area. Did your LC get the same service done and is it possible they messed something up allowing water to leak in?

IIRC the recall was for the passenger side.

Hey guys, just to circle back on this one. It was a loose Factory Rack Foot on the front left hand side. That was the only one that was loose. Sorry for the hassle, but these "new to me" LC's are tough since you have to guess about prior history...

Thanks all!
