Wondering if anybody else has experienced this issue. A couple of times while driving with the radio on, all of a sudden I hear a hum noise for about 2-3 seconds and then the radio goes dead, no sound. I can try and change to a different radio station but still no sound. Oddly enough, I'm able to select the B/T tab and I'm able to stream my Spotify and that works just fine. When I restart the vehicle a day or so later, the radio works just fine. There are times the radio will work and won't mysteriously turn off. This is strange and I'm wondering if the radio is starting to give out? Software update?

I too have a similar issue and I believe it to be the FM antenna booster/ antenna unit that combines both rear window antennas. See the diagram.

Did you replace your FM antenna booster/ antenna unit? I'm thinking this could be the culprit?
Sadly I haven't yet as I'm getting used to the silence vs FM radio babble. Reality is I'm waiting till the next time I remove the necessary trim for any reason. I think they are about $200?

So it sounds like it will eventually get to a point where there is no more radio? I couldn't tell by the diagram the location??

What happens in my case is that as I get further from the transmitting station the signal disappears. When close in town things are normal. This partially the stations issue as many have cutback on output wattage.

I need to pay closer attention while I'm driving since I'm not out of town when this issue has been a problem. I can go a couple of days driving in my town and the radio works just fine. Then all of a sudden I could be driving and I all of a sudden hear the hum sound and then the radio goes dead. I just now turned on the radio and it worked fine, of course its been parked in my garage a couple of days. The problem is electrical and its possible this unit you described could be the problem.

I believe my issue is related to signal strength hence the amplifier guess. Could be corroson or loose connection who knows.
