2013+ floor mat compatibility in a 2008-2011? (1 Viewer)

As the title says, are 2013+ floor mats, aftermarket or otherwise, compatible with the floor retention hooks found in the 2008-2011 model years?

It seems like the retention hooks would be the only factor that could interfere with a proper installation. It's hard to tell from online images if the hooks are mounted in different locations - as vendors listing OEM, Weathertech, and Husky floor mats seem to use generic stock photos.

I'm interested in this as Husky Liners offer full-coverage (to include the foot rest) molded liners for the 2013+ model year, but not for the 2008-2011 run (I own a 2011). If they'll fit a 2011, I'd like to pick up a set.

No issues so far. The mats I have are the moulded ones that also grab onto the kickpanel so that probably helps keep them in place. I plan on sticking some vecro strips underneath just to be on the safe side

I wonder if it would be easy to relocate the pre-2013 models' retention clips to align to the 2013+ floor mats?

Toyota sells the new style attachment clips independently which you can then install in the carpet to use the new style mats.

Resurrecting old thread, only to post the part numbers for the retaining clips that go into the carpet. These are twist lock retainers that the newer style floor mats go over.
