For the past few months I have been wondering around online trying to find grille options for my 2013 LC200. The black honeycomb mods just look bit off to me and I kept reverting back to OEM. After messing around with an old roll of vinyl, this is what came of it. It's exactly what I have been searching for and I don't have to wait around for parts.

The next task is going to be finding someone in the Dallas area to wrap it and do it correctly. The chrome slats in the middle section are going to be a pain.......

I've had the same thought to delete the chrome from the grill. I was just thinking of taking it to a paint shop. Why wrap instead of paint other than you could undo a wrap if you wanted to. Not sure what the cost difference would be. I like your mockup allowing you to see how it will look.

Looks great! Vinyl is what I landed on as well. I did mine with approximate-body-color for the surround (3M 1080 series "Gloss White Aluminum" G120 matches my factory silver pretty darn well), and Gloss Metallic Black for the logo and slats (3M 1080 series G212) The metallic black is close to Toyota's factory nightshade logos.

how hard is to do the wrap yourself?

I'm going with a different route.. bought a new reproduction OEM looking grill for $100, spraying it gloss black. Once I'm done with it, I'll put the OEM chrome grill back on which only takes minutes.

i was thinking very similar. Will wait to see your finished product before attempting mine.

I just received a new grill ordered from Aliexpress. Took a while since coming from China. Costs was around $240 w shipping. Mine came in good shape, looks great. I can see however the grill getting broken during shipping as the packaging is minimal, so buyer beware.

Some things I didn’t account for are the front camera and radar. I’ve been reading on how to spoof or disable the radar and basically just disconnect the camera.

However I think the radar will work since the replacement grill and Toyota emblem are plastic. The radar mounts directly to the car, not the OEM grill/emblem. I will figure out a way to mount the camera to the new grill.

The GR plate will be removed and replaced w a Toyota tri-color. The chrome on the grill will be painted black and the gray Toyota and side bars will be left as is. I’ll repost once I’ve completed the install. Hoping the radar functions without tripping any error codes. Stay posted…

A before pic from summer just after getting the TLC. Just got done replacing the radiator and all the cooling components, so threw in the grill from AliExpress. The TOYOTA emblem will be placed in its bracket tonight w automotive adhesive tape. Wasn’t comfortable having it held on w factory plastic tabs.

@pgruber10 - do you have an updated picture of the front grill with the toyota emblem? I was thinking about doing the same thing. Would love to see it. Thanks.
I didn’t do the automotive tape. By the time I trimmed the tape it was proud around the emblem and wasn’t looking good. In the spring I’ll use automotive glue. Since I’m waiting until then, I’ll paint all the non black trim including the Toyota emblem black using the method in another post. Currently my wheels and emblems/chrome is painted using plasti-dip spray paint. Was a relatively inexpensive way to get an idea of how the TLC would look before I did something permanent. Very surprise at how well the plasti-dip has adhered on the wheels and chrome trim. I run the truck through the car wash at least once a week and no peeling or chilling. I’ll get pics posted once the spring project is completed.

Did you end up disabling the PCS system or you just dealing with a Christmas tree dash? Seems like radar/cc would be screwed up with than grille.

There isn’t interference w the radar, but since I don’t have the front camera hooked up the PCS light will come on when I’m using cruise control on the interstate. I’ll mount the front camera in the spring by cutting out a hexagon from a part of the grill.
