Greetings All!

Just signed up. I will be attending the event this year, with my Co-Pilot Marc Ritchie. Hurray

Quick note on the registration process. Why no 70 series available in the selection list. I had to pick some other model, just to finish registration.

Other than that, I've also ordered up my 7 day pass.

Question... Does anyone know what the metric equivalent of 79 of your so called "inches"

Is there a raffle? Should I bring money? Should I bring raffle prizes from our club?

A quick question on the trail permits. Can they be purchased there in person? The reason that I ask is that we currently have a postal strike going on up here in Canada and no mail is currently being delivered, so I am unsure if I order one online that it will actually get to me before the event.

Behemoth60: There is a raffle so bring your cash and a prize if you wish. And your math 79*2.54=200.66cm

BTC95: Yes they can be purchased localy at the ranger stations

Northern Hills Ranger District
2014 N. Main Street
Spearfish, SD 57783

Mystic Ranger District
8221 South Hwy 16
Rapid City, SD 57702

or we might have a representive at the camp ground on thursday, but I wouldn't count on that

Hey all, I'll be trailering Wild Rice up there so I have room on the trailer for extra cargo if someone needs something brought up from Denver. Speak up now or ..........

I will be coming from Seattle and would make room for parts as well, I'll be showing up the 14th. I have a topper that locks with a couple guard dogs ARG!

What is the CB vs. Ham situation on the trails at BHCC. I am fully rigged up for VHF/UHF amateur bands, and avoid CB channels where possible. I haven't used my CB for about 3 years.. Do I need to get it dusted off for this event, or will there be someone to talk to on 2m?

I'll have both, so you can talk to me. :D but for the event's official use, I don't know which.

I promised pics of the mods I'm doing to my FJ40 for this event. here are a couple. Hydro assist steering is in and functions, trans skid plate just needs the plate added. should be done tomorrow.

Sweet 40 Bionic can't wait to see it in action looks tough as hell. Have you wheeled in the Black Hills before?

Any Seattle Cruiser Heads going to the BHCC? I havent met anyone from the club out here yet. I have only been to Elbe ORV with my stock T-100 once just to get the fever out of my bones, came back a bunch of dents $richer. Dent are character right?

The Black Hills folks are CB solid still. I, and the other two RSers that are headed up are ham and have CB's. As bad as cell coverage is in the Hills it's surprising more SD folks don't get their tickets. DTC runs a good event so it's all good!

never been there. can't wait!:bounce:

I heard it- "dents are like tattoos, but with better stories".:D

I have a quick question for you guys. I am packing the rig and trailer getting ready to leave on wednesday for the drive. How far do you have to drive on the average to get to the trailhead and do most people trailer there junk or drive? Trying to find out what to pack in the rig as far as tools and spare parts and what I can leave in trailer. The cruiser runs good at 55 60 but have not traveled very far with it yet. Thanks

Question

The wife and I bought a '80 FJ40 a month ago. We are currently dragging it around behind our motorhome in Montana. We just discovered this event. We'd love to come but upon reading the rules discovered "no pets". Now, are you talking about nephews and cousins or our dog and parrot?

Come on guys ( and gals!) let's see some pics!

thanks for the link Kevin! several of my rig in there. do you have or can get a close up of Peter's rear bumper swingout hinges? I like that design.
