I am thinking of doing it but I don't want be alone!!!!!:crybaby:
I'm planning on going. But I will probably be on the hard trail. Probably break another axle or something.

well i cant do hard trail, no winch, unless you want some one to ride with. I am not sure I am coming down but i might!

It's no fun if you don't push it far enough to brake something

The idea is to push it to the limits and not beyond. If you are breaking things regularly you haven't grasp that concept. Or have no idea what you are doing behind a wrench or steering wheel.

Anybody can get themselves and their truck in over their heads and hammer down. No skill in that.

breaking stuff is no fun. And these things are somewhat spendy to repair.

very true!

But finding that fine line is the key, I agree it can be costly, but it's worth the money and wrench time.!

It just gets expensive.

I hate breaking stuff.
Love wheeling with Junior, Randy, Wally and his crew, Landtank, Gary. We always have a great time and never break. (well they don't) And we run some hard stuff.

I probably came of as an ass earlier but what really gets me is when I see a failure do to lack of maintenance or just plain stupidity.

Trucks do break and I have no problem with that and waiting the 3 hours or so to fix them or tow them out.

Either way it's a buzz kill for the day.

Maybe I missed it, but what are the dates for the Fall Gathering in 2011?

As a point of reference for the NEA 2/19 SnowRun, I offer the following. I was out in my Tan 40 a week ago after the last snow on a couple class VI's here in NH. When I installed the 34" LTB's a couple years ago I thought they were as good as a locker vs the M/T's I had on previously. When I put the rear locker in this Fall, I thought it was over the top. It currently exceeds my pucker tolerance to do harder stuff until I get more exposure in those situations and my front roll bar installed. But I gotta tell you, after you put 10" of snow on a trail that I could run mostly in 2WD the week before, that trail becomes a much bigger challenge even in 4WD.

I am also in again this coming year for either participatiing in, and/or organizing some impromtu runs in central NH for anyone who wants to participate. I live near Concord, NH and my goal is to search for all the LEGAL trails I can find within an hour/30 mile radius of Concord since it is a central location. If we get a little more snow, I will be able to find more on the snowmobile.

As a club, our members are from all over New England. Most of us getting together in Southwest NH for a one day trail run every time or going somewhere in Mass/CT or RI for a pub night or wrenching is a stretch. But all this stuff is important to any club. If people are willing to organize things that at least some of us can do here and there around New England, so much the better. IMHO, the Spring meeting and Fall Gathering are the major club events. The other stuff plays a supporting role that adds to the fun and opportunity to stay in touch when you can't participate in the other.

I had fun Larry when we went exploring the class 6 trails!

Looking forward to doing some exploring in NH as well. I would like to do some scouting in VT as well. I don't know how much of a challenge these unmaintained roads would serve for our buggy/hardcore group though.
I think thats the challenge moving forward, or at least one that I have recognized lately is that it's tough to satisfy all of our wheeling classes.
I would imagine if I am in the group that wheels the "hard" trails I'm getting tired of driving the same trails all the time. No?

The class 6 wont entertain hardcore at all. I enjoy them though, I am going start doing the ones around my area.

When is the Spring Meeting?

No date has been set yet. More than likely a week or two before memorial day. No set venue as of yet.

I agree Rick, There has been some conversation already but we will make things official in Feb. after the first BOD meeting.
Looking forward to getting the ball rolling!

Can we start an new thread for 2011?

I am really frustrated with this year's wheeling conflicts. We cant get enough time off work to do Rick's trip out west. I cant go to FJ Northeasters spring event since this coincides with my power plant's maintenance shutdown. I cant make GCLC event in July unless I can find someone at work to switch shifts that week. FG is pretty much sacred, but hoping to fill my wheeling calendar with other stuff.
