Does anyone have the steps needed to remove the rear seat entertainment system from the headliner? I removed the courtesy light covers on both sides of the unit and see a 10mm bolt in each front corner (is the rear of the system just pushed into the headliner/roof panel with clips? I have something making a rattle sound in there when I turn right or left driving me nuts, I need to get rid of the sound. Thanks

What is under the player when you remove it?

Not sure. Hasn't happened yet. Probably one day next week. I can post a pic then

Hey OP, can you send me a screen shot of the TIS. I have this exact same problem (something rolling around in there) and it is driving me completely bat**** crazy.

Nevermind, I figured it out. I found a tiny screw rolling around inside the mechanism as I suspected. I can't find where it goes for the life of me. But with it removed I gave it a good shake and there is no noise and nothing loose so back in the vehicle it went. Problem solved.

What is under the player when you take it out ? Pic ?

Sorry, no pictures. There are 2 10mm bolts toward the front of the vehicle under the rear seat lights. Just pop off the light lens with a small screw driver. Once the 2 bolts are removed the other end of the surround piece is held in by clips that pull straight down. Once this trim frame is removed you will see 4 10mm bolts (one at each corner) that hold the rear seat entertainment screen in place. Remove the 4 bolts. The screen will remain in place as it is held by 2 plastic expanding pins at the corners to the front of the vehicle. Squeeze the two "wings" on the pins while pulling the unit down with light pressure. Repeat on the other side. Now the whole unit will slide toward the front of the vehicle and be released (drop down) when a tab at the back of the vehicle side clears its slot. Remove two electrical harness clips and the whole unit comes free. What is left is the bracket that the screen was attached to and the metal of the roof/sunroof pocket.

A good shake of the screen unit revealed that the noise was coming from something loose in the unit. Removing 4 very small Philips head screws holding down the plastic cover over the electronics (they are tight and held in with locktite, be careful not to strip the screw heads when removing). Once the 4 screws were removed it allowed me to pry up the end of the cover just enough to let the loose piece (in this case a tiny screw like the 4 that held on the cover) to drop out of the screen unit. A good shake confirmed there was nothing else in there so I replaced the 4 little screws and re-installed the unit in the vehicle. Problem solved.

Excellent info. Thanks for posting this. My 2010 just developed the same rattle. Same issue, same solution. Interestingly the loose screw in mine was the only screw of that kind without blue loctite. I guess we know why it backed out. Were any of you able to figure out where it is supposed to go or how to get the components open enough to see?
