2010 Lone Star Land Cruiser Round Up - Official Thread

Here's some pictures from yesterday at K2.
New Front Gate:

Now he's working. He must have seen me with the camera.

That's Randy and the gentleman in charge of the pavilion build reflecting on the day.
Here's a couple from out on the rocks of me (khaki LJ) and my buddy TJ (silver TJ):
The three above are on the trail out the backside of camp that takes you back to where the rocks are.
Just a couple more of once you get back to the rocks:

Correct. The red roof is the concession area. The road in will be gravelled and the check in office will be in place. They're going to try to get the cabins in place, but may not have electricity in them yet.
There will not be showers, more than likely. We'll have to get to know someone with a motel room or bring lots of wet wipes.

Also, I spoke with Shain about doing another area tour like we did a few years ago. It'll be a scenic drive around the area with a couple of river crossings and some areas of interest like natural springs, etc. Should be neat.

I rode around the "back 40" with Shane and there is anything and everything you would want to play on from dirt trails to water to rocks. There is something for everyone, every level and plenty to explore.
According to the two week forecast, we will have KICK A** Weather...low's in the 40's, highs from the mid 60's to high 70's sunny and no chance of rain. Ain't no excuses boys and girls....git on down to the Round Up, or miss the chance to say "I was there from the beginning......"

Hey Jason, will there be a water source at the camp? We are bringing a shower tent but need water.

They have a big water tank on site but I do not know if it will be filled for this event in time or not. Not to sound like a smart@ss but there is also the creek right in camp that has water in it if nothing else. About how much water do you go through for a shower? Does your shower run non stop while showering or is it one of the ones where you wet down, lather, then rinse, using minimal water? I was kind of looking forward to the showers / restrooms being in place myself so I could camp if I cannot get a motel room in Mason. If I can't get a motel room I may just bring a lot of water and maybe I can trade you some water for a turn in your shower tent. I have a number of 5 gallon water jugs.

The website only shows fees for two days.... some will be there three or four. If we make it out there, we're not bringing a rig, just camping and riding for a few days. We're still undecided at this point..... kind'a depends on the park fees for the event..........

Registration includes 3 days of wheeling, 4 nights of camping, 1 t-shirt, 1 driver raffle ticket, and 1 dinner ticket.
The party includes Texas BBQ, Raffle, Kids Raffle and Live Music with 2 bands.
Event Fee: $75 per Driver
Passengers: FREE
In addition, there is an $80/vehicle fee payable to Katemcy Rocks. This is paid at the gate when you get there. This includes park entry and camping for you and all passengers for the weekend.
Early Arrivals on Wednesday Permitted, No Wheeling
