Thanks for the update Randy. Will the showers be available? Just trying to make plans. Can't wait!

Later,

We will adjust the things available at the Roundup so we dont interfere with the meal functions you already have planned. Also this need to be mentioned--- the property owner is doing the concesson stand so any and all patronage will help keep them happy!!

Like I need an excuse to EAT!:lol:

Lemme know if anybody needs anything transported from CA or back to Ca. We'll have room in the truck bed.

Georg

Are you planning on not winning anything at the raffle?

Nah, he needs SOME KIND OF padding to keep all the transmissions and axles from hitting each other!

UPDATE: I may be driving a totally different Landcruiser to TX this year. Should know more by Monday.:hmm:

Where do we go if we get there Wednesday? Kinda feels like a tradition to sit in the Hard 8 Wedsday night and listen to Randy's radio show.

I'm sure there is a place in Mason.....bring that new fangled 40 and come on.

Registered. I'm ready to kick Georg's a$$.

I was down at Katemcy yesterday helping Shain cut the loop trail ( the 1 trail to connect the main trail from camp to the trail from the back campground exit). I took a few pics from up at the campground area but forgot to take the camera when we hit the trails. With the slavedriver that Shain is :D, I do not know if he would have let me take a break to take pics anyways .

Here is the front gate looking from across the highway. It is getting replaced with a much longer one.

Here is about 50 yards inside the front gate right before you descend in to the creek crossing, but looking back towards the front gate.

Here is the same spot as above looking in to the creek.

Getting closer,

and closer,

Here is after you cross and get out and look back at what you crossed. It is no problem in a vehicle but if you are pulling a trailer you drag the rearend of the trailer on the concrete and it sounds awful.

After you cross the creek you drive about fifty yards, on the right is where the check-in building will be ( the 4 little white markers are it's location):

next to it is the stage and pavilion ( picture it with the roof on and the stage there :D)

and finally to the right is the concession stand,
100_3155.jpg

Past the concession stand and somewhat behind it will be the small cabins and shower facilities. I do not have a picture of it.

To the left off this main road as you come up out of the creek is the camping and staging area. These next 4 pics are standing on the main trail between the pavilion and the concession stand looking towards the campground from left to right.

In the last two pictures above, the rocks are back up in the treeline area you see off in the distance. You get to them by taking either the main trail that you came in on and where I am taking these pics from or there is an exit at the backend of the campground area that takes you up to the rocks also.

Hope you enjoy and that these wet your rock appetite. Once again I apologize for not taking any up at the rocks. I will probably be back down there in a couple of weeks and will try and take more of the rocks.

James

James big thanks!!

Hope the gate gets wider...... swinging the gooseneck in there might be tight:whoops:

Also, is the creek crossing gonna get a bridge??
Worried the low-boy gooseneck might bottom out:doh:

CAN'T WAIT!!!

Yes, they are having a wider gate built at this time and are also putting in a bridge and/or culvert system at the creek. This phas been slowed down due to all the recent rain over the past month. Yes your trailer would drag. I drug my 18' bumper pull and it sounds awful dragging on the concrete.

If it doesn't get put in in time for the Round-Up it will be the only park in Texas with a class 2 trail just to get to the concession stand.:grinpimp:

Thanks, if you drug a 18' trailer then my 36' gooseneck would become a bridge.

Lemme know what time you're gonna get there, so I can arrive 15 minutes earlier. I recon that'll give me ample time to park my junk, grab a folding chair along with a couple of cold shiners and set up near the creek crossing. That'll be a show for sure!
Maybe I outta drag the whole cooler with me?

Pic found us some 30 inch concrete culverts for the low water crossing, that will be plan B if we don't get the dam bridge in. We are going to get the two bridges delivered this Tuesday So things will fall in place I stiil think .
They will start the construction on the shower facility this week . Gonna be a 20 x20 cender block building that will house the showers . It will also be expandable at a later date as well. the power company will be there wed to start getting us power too. hopefully the stage will be built this week and then we will begin building the Truses. Man looking foward to getting a few days without rain.
