Don't know when we'll be rollin' into O'brien but we'll be rollin'.
Just don't make a big fuss over my idler pulley noise when I start the old beast up in the morn. It's not that bad but you can hear it or them.
Sooo...should have the oysters delivered right after work. They'll have been harvested just prior so these puppies will be fresh.
Don't have much in the way of "sauce" for the bivalves, maybe some lemon or something so if you're going to indulge you might bring your favorite sauce.
And no margarita mix this time.
Bringing 10 dozen. Don't know just how many will make it to camp(consumption not spoilage) but there should be plenty. Hope some of you are up to some shuckin'.
Off I go...

See you all down there, we hitting the road soon! :steer:

leaving shortly too... well, OK, around noon when its as hot as freaking possible.

Have a Q, raffle fodder, tix, marg makings and a big cast iron pot. Oh, and a hot gal riding with me. Insurance forms, insurance cert thanks to Timm B, and what ever else looks appealing like a hi lift, tire repair kit and CO2.

Glad Russ can make it as he'll need to escort the CA group out. I'll be running back to O'Brien for the 1st time.

Drive Safe!

Tony

Leaving PDX now, got some raffle swag courtesy of Cascade Cruisers and Freeman Motors.
Will try tp make it to SD,at least O'Brien.
Aloha!

Great run, great water, great food and great company. Thanks to all and I will see you next year if not sooner. We will try not to disappoint on next year's event!

X2 on that Garett. And thanks to Jeff and Tony for all their work getting this run together. It is such a fun event...except for the dust and heat...
And there was lots of recruitment fodder for the Jefferson boys...me included. For next year tell Travis to turn the heat down for us coastal boys though.

For me, this was the best McGrew Trail Ride ever. Awesome participants, great vendor & club support, killer food, no serious vehicle issues, and finishing ever stage ahead of schedule! All this with a record number of registrants! Thank you to everyone!!!

I also know the Jefferson State Cruisers will do a great job taking over the reigns for Tony & I for the 10th anniversary of this great family ride.

PS - I'm going to try my best to write this one up for TT & properly recognize some key participants

That was a great event! Thank you very much Tony, Jeff, JSC and all the participants. We had a great time and was glad to finish the whole run this year. That last half was great! I'm gettin" to be a expert on those service roads. Hope I remember them next year! Thanks again ALL!

Once again an event looked so forward to does not disappoint. I don't know how a lot of other events go, but everyone on this run always seem to to be friendly, having fun and willing to help with anything. This is a nice bunch of people.
A little warm this year but boy does Sourdough rock!
Sam drove the second half again this year. This time I just let him go(he has his license now) with no real instruction from me and he did great again just like last year. He's becoming an old hat at this. His 15 yr old, non licensed cousin drove the 5 miles down to Sourdough.
As usual, the potluck, raffle and Tony's 'presentation' were outstanding.
I had a great time once again. Hope those that did 'slurp' at the Oyster Bar enjoyed.
I love this run and can't hardly wait until next year.

Truly a fantastic Time! Cindy and I had a great time, and as noted, the event this year was awesome! The usual cast of characters were there and some new faces too.

Thanks to Land Cruiser Specialties for all the support.
Thanks to Aric and Gabe for continuing their role as wood gathers.
Thanks to Ross Woody (our TLCA representative) for showing up (and cooking ribs).
Thanks to Kief for the excellent shirt design.
Thanks to the Jefferson crew for working the wagon rut section, as Jeff noted, it was the earliest we ever pulled into camp.
Thanks to Russ for the bivalves.
Thanks to everyone who supported the raffle by either bringing something or buying two tickets.
just a thank you thank you thank you! Again, it was everyone who made this a great trip.

For me, it was almost a new trek in that Cindy and I had to enter (and exit) via O'Brien and Grants Pass. Jeff and I got to ride out together (and alone) and it took me back 15 years when Jeff and I stormed those roads and explored that area in our FJ40s.

It was 109 in Redding when we passed thru at 4. Shheeshhhh... it was warm. We got home at 7 and hit the pool.

and it is also refreshing to have Jefferson Cruisers take over the event. Their enthusiasm and fresh approach are refreshing and probably due. Next year will be a fantastic event in that all I have to do is show up and have a good time. Very much looking forward to it! See you my friends!!

(PS, yes I did fail dirt inspection and had to bail and wash...)

Tony, Tony, Tony.
I was so 'enthralled' in conversation I actually missed the inspection on my rig. I was so looking forward since I scrubbed that puppy with the "recommended" t-brush till I had sweat on my brow.
Thanks to everyone who was actually involved in the event and those that just showed up for a good time. This is an awesome crowd.
Sadly, I must ask: Is it actually over? Three hundred and how many days to go? Dang.
What a weekend.:D

Yup, Yup. We had so much fun the camera never came out. Was really cool to meet the Easterners- Sean and the girls and unofficially Kevin R. who probably only spent 8 hours @ camp.
I heard a lot about Scott's Jeep on the way out.. I'm OK with that.. I really enjoyed seeing all the kids have fun and thanks to big Zack for helping find and smash the wasps.

Yes thank you Tony and Jeff for putting on another great year! Also thank you for the other JSC members who did all that you did to help this year go off without a hitch!

I agree with k2 and will do everything in my power to keep it cooler next year, it was a scorcher :grinpimp:

I know that I, as well as the other JSC members, are quite psyched for what we can accomplish next year! Also we wanted to thank Tony and Jeff for not only making this event happen all these 9 years, but also thank them for entrusting next year to us.

Echoes of all the compliments!
Our 2nd time attending was awesome!
Great Trail
Great Camping
Great People
Thanks to all involved in putting this on!

My camp-repaired CV boot (rescue tape, camp chair nylon, duct tape) made back to O'Brien, down 199 to the Redwoods, overnight at Crescent City, 300 miles up 101 to LIncoln City and 50 miles to Portland!

Looking forward to next year!
-Bill

I have had a few requests for additional shirts/sweatshirts and Jeff/Tony will have to OK it but we need a total of 24 to make it worth the printer's time, I think right now I have interest in 5 and these could be any mix of sweatshirts, t-shirts and I suppose tanktops. Prices aren't available yet but if there is enough interest I will get that for you. I think even other colors could be chosen for the shirt but the texas orange would be the mainstay.. I would have to check with the printer to be sure color deviation would be OK.. Jeff, Tony, what do you think.. Thanks, Kief.

The event will not pay, obviously. If you want to do another run and have folks lined up to buy them, fine.

I never do for lack of interest... obviously, they are expensive in small orders.

and I always make a point to not have extra shirts... there is simply no interest a month or two after.

have fun, be safe.

OK, so if you are interested PM me, Have interest so far for a couple of hooded sweatshirts and 2-3 t's, last call....
