Caught the 200 bug and have read this forum up and down. Looking to trade my low miles '12 4runner in for an lc200 in the $35k-40 range (budget will likely increase!). Searching for weeks.

Ran across an '08 lc, but no rear DVD and all leather steering wheel? I'm a newb, admittedly, but have never seen that before. Ever. What's up with that? Anyone?

The "premium" package was optional until the refresh. So yes, there could be 2008 LC200's that don't have the DVD and leather steering. But its rare as dealers always ordered it fully optioned.

All leather steering wheel is more rare than not having the DVD player.

I think I was looking at the same one you were.

Yes, that is extremely rare, but in my opinion, very undesirable, especially when the dealer is not letting everyone know that this does not have all the usual bells and whistles, including not having a Cool Box. They were even advertising "DVD based system", but when I questioned more, they informed me that it did NOT have a DVD player. I don't think they were being dishonest, but I did find the description very misleading.

The dealer was pricing the 200 in the same range as other 200s with the Luxury package, which makes it overpriced for what it is, in my opinion. I passed.

I'm in Dallas. That LC is in San Antonio. I really wouldn't mind no rear DVD. One thing less to fix when it breaks. When do 200 electronics crap out, anyway? Bought a new GX460 last month & the sales guy said usually around 5 years, but he was trying to sell me an extended warranty.

I see your point, T. Dealer's reply is that it is asking blue book trade-in value, which, if it were true, they paid too much. Also concerning is the lack of service records on the rig-there aren't any. Seems suspicious for a truck with 75k miles. I can afford to be patient!

did you check the toyota.com/owners site with the VIN? Sometimes the carfax doesn't show anything, but the toyota site does. I was just told this the other day and it is true.

Yes. Toyota owners is a good resource. Had a guy take a look at the '08 LC in San Antonio. Prior right side damage, over-spray, after market pinstripe, bad hand brake boot, one key fob held together by tape and third row seat full of sand that detailer missed. I passed.

Gents, has anyone looked t the Silver 08 at Autonation in Austin? I was considering the one in San Antonio due to much better price, but last post gives me doubts now. The one in Austin appears pretty clean, I saw it in the shop getting 2 new tires and oil change, but they are asking $3000 more than the one at Universal, I guess because its CPO?)

Looking at carfax, CPO is only good till dec, so you have some negotiating room, both look to be for sale about the same amount of time.
