Guys,

Beware of the listing shown below near Auburn, AL. After repeated assurances from the seller about the truck being in good condition, I drove 1,300 miles round-trip to pick it up. Twenty hours of driving. This LC has MANY blemishes that were undisclosed, including extensive cigarette burns in the leather, headliner, and (believe it or not) the dash; hail damage on the hood and roof; a significant dent on the right rear fender; a likely roof leak; a broken headrest; tears in the seats; stained carpeting; and more. Mechanically it seems fine, though no maintenance records whatsoever can be produced. Carfax and the owner indicate that it's a one-owner that's always been in Alabama or close by.

Thanks, Ryan. Needless to say, I was a bit disappointed!

Amazing how good pictures online can look! Although the ad is relatively new, this trucks been on cl for a long time, I guess we now know why.

Thanks for saving someone else a long drive to disappointment.

There are members willing to check out local trucks for others, me included, but opelika is a little too far for me.

Wow! Sorry that happened to you. I hope that was not a fellow Mudder. A very good reason Not to post non-Mud affiliated vehicles for sale on this sight.

Nope. Not a Mudder.

You can never tell from the pictures. I've purchased a couple of vehicles out of state, and each time I've booked both my flight there and back on Southwest so I can either cancel the return flight or hop on it for situations like this. Even more than the miles you drove, I'd be pissed about all that time wasted!

So did you meet with the original owner? Amazing how some people who can afford a $70K vehicle treat it as if they bought a Pontiac Aztek! Good luck in your search - you'll find the right one.

Well, yes and no about meeting the original owner. Her husband showed me the car. She wasn't there yet. I was done looking at it so quickly that she didn't have time to get there.

On the bright side, I picked up a very clean, one-owner 2005 LC today in Atlanta with 114k on the clock. Previous owner traded it on a Lexus GX, so I got it from the Lexus dealer. It's bone stock - time to start building it... That's half the fun! Ordered new Michelin LTX AT2's (275/70/18) tonight. Working on finding bumpers and sliders. Gonna grab my Gamiviti roof rack from my 1999 before letting it go. Running boards will be removed tomorrow - that's the first order of business.

I've made that mistake also but it was a boat not a LC. My rule now is that if its further than an hour drive I insist on good resolution photos or I won't waste my time. Sorry to hear you went so far for such a let down.
