I just bought a '06 LC like that. It came from Mexico. The PO told me the dash trim piece for a double din stereo had to come from England.

A 2006 LX w/o navi would indeed be a unicorn in the US... but the fact that it is at copart discounts any credibility. It looks like the doors have Mark Levinson speakers too.

I'm not familiar with copart. Can you please explain?

This is not the same dash as in the OP's picture on the LX from Copart. The OP's picture looks...weird... 98-02 center, 5 speed tranny. Damage indicated. Perhaps a salvage title from an '03+ LX with modified dash? Anyway, at >$8K, too rich for me to want to find out...

Salvage title? No thanks.

I've purchased a couple vehicles from copart for a beater and project but the vehicles are just one small step up from the junkyard/auto dismantler.

From wiki:
"The majority of vehicles Copart sells on behalf of insurance companies are either damaged vehicles deemed a total loss or not economically repairable by the insurance companies or are recovered stolen vehicles for which an insurance settlement with the owner has already been made."

Gotcha. Thanks for the info. Not my style at all no wonder I've never heard of them :)

Couple things that stand out to me...

The glovebox looks like it doesnt close straight. There is rust on the seat bracket and the clear plastic covering the gauges looks trashed.

Too many ?s on a 60k mile vehicle. Something is a little stinky.

Dumpster fire. Nothing looks right.

Time out. Never said go buy it! Was just pointing out the fact that something was different in that I had never seen a no nav truck. I didn't post this in classifieds for a reason.
Even if this is a pile of parts from various trucks, it still means somebody got rid of nav or it never had it. We should run the vin and see if it's an 06 after all. If it is, then I still see it as something of a unicorn and would love to have a few better pictures.

Regarding Copart, they are just an auction house for insurance. Most of the cars I see have been smashed up and were totaled, but many were not. A flood is an immediate auction. An 80 series with hail damage is an immediate total. Point being, there may or may not be something monkeyed with on this car. Can't know without someone going and looking at the dash in person.

Sorry, OilHammer... I knew you weren't telling anybody to buy it. I only meant there are often strange things going on with many of the cars sold at Copart.

To add to the discussion, the VIN does indicate a 2006. I took a look at the EPC and there indeed is a Non-navi Mark Levinson stereo that shows up for N. America LX's. Here it is...

Well, you do bring up a good point about Copart Hoser. When I looked again at the ad, there was a mention of a previous "incident". It's quite possible that this vehicle was stolen and the NAV stolen out of it. Insurance companies don't tend to like stolen vehicles, so they could have auctioned it for that reason, and it would have gotten a salvage title then. Some enterprising person could have grabbed a non-nav and swapped it in to make a functional truck again. Regardless, from what Robred said long ago, you would almost need an entire truck to do that....dash, harness, computers, etc. Too costly any other way? But...now you confirm there was a part number in Lexus, so I'm back to "wow" no matter what. Wish we had a straight on photo of it.
