Hello All,
I recommended to put stock size BFG KO2s on my sister’s 2006 GX470. She said she gets a pretty big shimmy went she hits a bump. Tire shop checked out tires and rebalanced and they said they think the shimmy is because the tires are too aggressive for the vehicle. Is there a fix for this? In the past I’ve put steering stabilizers on my vehicles when running these tires. Any suggestions appreciated. Thanks. Matt

To me that sounds like suspension or steering issues and not tires. Plenty of people running more aggressive/larger tires with zero issue. Tire shop is probably saying that to try and sell another set of tires sadly. I would look more into steering rack, tie rods, ball joints, control arm bushings, etc. and see how all that looks first before changing tires.

Thanks. Tires are brand new, just put them on. Will check out the items noted.
