For 180km/hr, yes!

FWIW, I had my hzj105 at 160+ km/hr more than once.

Mine was 5 speed, 2" lift, 33" tyres etc.
It also has 4.10:1 diff gears vs 4.30:1 stick gearing.

Apart from feeling like I was riding on the back of a hippo that was riding a hover board, and had had too much valium, and too much whiskey, it was a smooth ride.
Just felt like it might float off into the weeds if someone broke wind in the wrong direction.

The engine had legs to keep going. My sense of self preservation did not.

Also, where I live 160km/hr anywhere in the state is enough to get arrested, 18 months license suspension, car impounded for 3 months, and a visit with the magistrate.

My FJ45 would do 160, obviously on a closed circuit with a professional driver. Decided to not repeat it for the same reasons as @mudgudgeon 😅

If you had a long enough stretch, I'd say you'd run out of RPM before you ran out of legs as such, but I doubt 140+ km/h was in Toyota's design briefing for any land cruiser.

Mister Blue the 105 with a 1HD-T and taller fifth gear is pretty happy at 110. 120 feels like it is giving me signals to please not go any further. Stock rims with 285 75 R16 Kumho AT52 tires and a 40mm lift on Terrain Tamer comfort springs. I get a bit of vibration which might be tire related and I am on the fence about the steering box and whether at 450k km maybe it needs to be replaced.

I am going to take a drive to Muscat with my son in a few days and will have a chance to really get a feel for how it is at a little higher speed on a long straight with no traffic. Dubai, even the Dubai to Abu Dhabi with heavy traffic, is not really a great environment to go too fast in a big 105. At least for me.

I think I may have solved the problem. I found that the pervious owner had installed large spacers. I believe some 1 1/2 inch spacers. After removing the spacers, the car drives a lot better. But I haven't had the opportunity to hit 140 kph. Sooner or later I will find the top speed of 1hz. I have faith that it can at lest hit 160kph.
1HZ and 1HDT aren't much different from each other, I believe top speed of 1hdt is the same as 1HZ.
