Was giving consideration to going to look at this local LX at dealer.

Price seemed fair for the miles. Cosmetics were good.

If you're looking at a 100, especially a Lexus, be sure to punch that VIN into the Lexus owners site to check out the dealer history. The Toyota site isn't nearly as valuable IMO, but it's still another piece of information to evaluate a prospective purchase.

There were actually a bunch of other declined services after those two entries, but I had seen enough.

That pricing for repair seems nuts.

Seems pretty normal for Lexus. Just because the truck is 15 years old and worth a tiny fraction of the MSRP, it never stops being a $70 or 80K vehicle to maintain.

I maintained my 470 at the dealer for about seven or eight years. And then switched to an Indy. Maintenance and repair costs will never be confused with that of a Camry.

It's possible the previous owners of this 470 had the work done for less $$ at an indy shop, but I doubt it. They simply dumped it and ran.

I just came across another potential 470 in Texas. Punched in the VIN and started reading the dealer notes. The last entry was a complaint that the vehicle wouldn't go into High range. It needed an actuator. Repair was $1500. Customer declined and the dealer's shop pulled fuse which disabled 4Lo. The truck probably still won't go into 4 Lo now. And that's not something that shoppers would even think to check.
