Anyone have experience good or bad with these? Looking at one that has allegedly been maintained by the current owner (not sure if they’re original or have just Owned it for a while).

All research I’ve seen sounds like so long as fluids are done and VCGs and crank position sensor(s?) mechanically they’re pretty sound, it’s just electronic idiosyncrasies that show up.

Thanks all

Well I ended up with a 2018 c300. Sadly not a cash purchase, but, this is a fun little car.
Styling and parts commonality make it look like a mini S class, which is good and bad. Part of me wishes I had gone with an S class.
4matic grip, but in eco mode if I baby it I can see 36mpg on mostly open 55-80mph roads.

Far cry from my 100.

Snagged a 99 e320 (w210) 4matic 💘wagon❤️‍🔥 for $350 on Saturday.
CEL and misfire on cylinder 2, and stalls when cold in reverse.
Same owner since 2014, seemingly well taken care of.

And snagged a 97 e300 diesel rwd yesterday.
Primary owner used it to tow his 15’ Boston whaler.
Won’t come out of 1st, going to troubleshoot. Interior is much much nicer than the wagon.
It was $850

Hooked my snap on tender up for two hours to get the battery theoretically nice and charged.
Fired it up, looks and sounds like this. Also this is the dash. Unhooked my tender and it remains the same.

Would appreciate any om606 aficionados assistance. Car is amazingly clean. Trans allegedly won’t go out of 1st, hopefully it’s a bad battery. Haven’t pulled it out to find the date of manufacture sticker, PO said his wife drove it from va beach or somewhere near there, drove fine and his daughter drove it for maybe a month before it had the trans problem, and they parked it right away and didn’t drive it since. That was last summer.

I can't help with specifics on that model but my first order of business would be to plug it in to a scanner and see what the engine and transmission control units are saying. Looks like not shifting out of first is not an uncommon issue with the 722.6 transmission, often caused by transmission fluid getting into the control unit or the connector plug.

That’s what I’ve been seeing as well.
Also what I’m hoping for because it seems to be an easy fix.
Stay tuned

Had a moment…
Poured a whole bottle of diesel klean into it, let it sit for a day and stuck my snap on tender to jump it again, fired up and idled.
CEL is still on but my gas cap is all gunked.

Ideas and Drove it probably 6-7 miles over the course of an hour and put in about five gallons of fresh diesel at the gas station.

Wonder if the battery had just been sitting too long and not properly charged, it looks like the guy I got it from literally drove it back from his FILs so about 90 miles and it sat. Maybe trans was in limp mode due to low voltage.

Stay tuned.

Thing is fun.

Had some time today.
Tried to get the valve cover off the pilot, but can’t Figugre out how to remove the wiring loom

So I took a break and moved over to the next car in the line up , the e320 wagon which needed a vcg too.
My youngest son supervised. Got it off, condition of the ignition coils I got off, with one stuck on.
The gasket doesn’t look too bad but idk?

Cover itself - if I’m motivated enough I’ll paint it black yellow red
