I just picked up a 2016 navigation map update for my 2005 GX470. It previously had the factory one from 11 years ago. It cleaned up the navigation map interface a lot and actually seems to run faster, also updated all maps as well.

Does it eliminate the "click to agree I won't use the gps while driving" warning message that pops up every time you start the truck?

That is a good question actually, I will have to check for you. My initial response is "No".

Where did you get it from? and how much? I have been wanting to update my 2004 since I bought it a year ago.

Resurrecting an old thread, but has anyone given the eBay maps a try? I found the factory option but am not willing to dump over $200 into something I never really use.

I have. Works fine. Simply updates the latest roadways. No interface or graphics clean up. Still have to hit agree upon vehicle startup. I got mine for $25 on eBay.

I will pay someone exactly $1 via paypal if they can provide a way to eliminate this extreme pita feature.

From what I have seen in looking around online your options are the Lockpick, the GROM, and I think its Vaistech to get rid of that "feature". I really wish we could go to Toyota/Lexus and have them turn it off but I don't think its possible, otherwise someone that has been doing this longer than myself would have already mentioned that option I think.

Yeah I think grom and lockpick on the only way to get around it. I went to Lexus and had them turn off my always tilting steering wheel at startup and the always on orange running lights. I asked if they could disable that I agree screen and they can't.

I am sure its a liability issue, and if I ever make it over to lexus for service I will have them turn the steering wheel thing off too!

Living in a litigious society is wonderful. If we didn't have all of these things to look out for us imagine the horror!

I bought the map update for my 07 on eBay. Paid $15. Works great and no longer have to hit agree every time I start the car.

That's awesome. I did the same on my '05 and unfortunately I still have to hit ok after the update. Must be a software difference between the years.

I have a 2005 GX470 that was moved from the mainland to Hawaii. To my big surprise the GPS does not have Hawaii details. Over the years I have asked the Lexus dealership in Honolulu if there is an update and they always say no or not sure. Has anyone ever been able to get a software update with Hawaii on this make and model car?

Thanks,,
Alvin

Do you have the option for Hawaii in your update? Just curious. Thanks
