DVD player and amp power feed?
My fiance is going crazy with no radio. The lexus indi pulled the audio fuse #55 in the passenger side kick panel due to an Amp draw last year. This solved the draw but left her w/out a radio. We had several dead batteries after the car sat for a few days. I’m now thinking it may have been the DVD player or the amp all along. Just trying to get to the absolute bottom of this mystery. How does one unplug/pull power to the DVD player only? Is it under the shifter trim in front of the center console? The harness thats accessible inside the rear of the center console doesnt affect power to the DVD player. Thanks in advance. Is the amp built in to another physical component of the sterio or is it a stand alone?
Looking through threads/posts on the subject, amperage draw seems to be the DVD or the amplifier on popular occation. I looked for a parasitic loss test procedure on the FAQ page but havent seen one yet, though i know they exist. I feel im 98% there in terms of nailing down the ultimate cause; its something on the fuse #55 circuit.
Any help or guidence would be appreciated.
