I know I know. It isn't mine, I'm fixing it for a girl -> getting closer to said girl.

I haven't looked at it yet, but she says her check engine light is on and the only thing that is happening differently is that while idling the engine RPMs will drop some, then come back up. Happens occasionally she says.

I'm taking a look at it tomorrow, what are your thoughts?

Oh, and I believe it is a wrangler.
 
Pull the trouble codes will be the first step.......
 
as soon as I hear the word Jeep, I think throttle position sensor....

After some research on why our bush truck cherokee wouldn't start it seemed tons of people have problems with it... and it must be in the worst possible spot, right on top of the bell housing, which is crammed in there...

I must say the stuff that truck will do amazes me, but when it stops, figuring out where to start is a different story...

the throttle position sensor could also make the idle wonky... but on a truck that new, I would check codes first... could also be mass air flow sensor....

those are all just guesses though
