What should this vehicle cost me? I have a friend of a friend of a friend type of thing and they have this truck. It just had new valve seals done and new rear brakes. The person that has had it is the 2nd owner and has had it over ten years. Oil change and tire rotation every 5k miles and has had all the service done at a Toyota store. The car fax shows it has never been in a wreck and shows all service history. The inside of this truck is pretty rough as they had kids. The carpet is extremely dirty and the seats are rough. Tires are actually in good shape and the shop told them the front brakes were at 40% left when they changed the back a few months ago. It does not have the ride height control which I assume is good. It has never been off road as this is an older person and they didn't even seem to understand what the hi-lo was with the four wheel drive. I am thinking with some love on the inside this could be a great truck. Thoughts????????

If it has 250k on it and has been well maintained and never Offroad how long should she last and will she cost a lot to own?

And again what is a fair price to pay?

Thanks guys

Where is the vehicle (rust belt or NE would not be good)? Rust (need details about the undercarriage....rust KILLS Cruisers). When was the timing belt/water pump service done (should be every 90k or 9 years)? What is the condition of the CVs and steering rack? What about the brake master cylinder (check by turning key off, pump brake pedal 40 times, put key in and turn to acc, time how long pump takes to recharge...should be less than 40 seconds)?

All of those need to be addressed to properly ascertain a value and estimate long-term costs.

Carpet can be cleaned (cheap) and leather can be replaced (kinda cheap).

The 90k service will cost up to $2k every time it's done (tb/wp/coils/plugs, etc). That's the BIG expense.

Also.....read up on this.....Slee Off-Road 100 Series Newbie Guide
That's the best resource to understand how to assess a 100-series cruiser before purchasing.

Ga truck? that should mean no rust. non nav? thats a biggie. 2002 nav is a deal breaker IMO. based on what we know, 5k is fair.
