2001 rear spoiler bolts are just spinning (1 Viewer)

That's going to be difficult man, wish I knew of a way to help, I can only think you may have to canibalize it but securing another might be difficult and costly.

Maybe a dremel to cut a hole large anough to get a pair of pliers in there?


I just removed my spoiler today to clean under it and realized they are just captive nuts that the bolts go through.

I coated mine in PB Blaster and ran the bolts back in while it's off so they will be good to go when I re-install it.
 
I had that happen to me. I wrapped a section of tie wire around the spinning portion, took pliers and pryed against the wire and gently turned the bolt with a wrench. It took a few tries.

You could also try to roughen the ties wire with a file, to create a serrated surface, and they may grip the plastic a bit better

I did the same with pliers. Two of them popped out. The original Toyota nuts were not installed very well. I replaced all the nuts.
