Tried the wiring harness last night, didn't seem to help my issue. The passenger side low beam was still having issues coming on the first time, the same one I was having issues with before. I guess I am going to lean towards it being a ballast issue. I have the Raptor 55 watt ballast, which do have a life time warranty......guess I will try to get them swapped out.

On a side note my fog lights have not given me a single issue, but they are not DDM ballast and igniters. They are DDM bulbs though. Just thinking out loud here.

Wiring harness definitely did not fix the issue. :( Ordered some different ballast for my lows. (same as my fog lights - since they have had no issues) Also returning the DDM ballast for warranty swap outs.

Well the 55w H1 kits are available again at DDM. Do I need to order one harness or two? I figured I would get the 5000K, I really prefer the whiter blue look but still want a hint of the blue HID tint. Thoughts? Also to you LX guys out there do I need to fill in all the blobs or just the one to the left?

You only need one harness

I had one bulb that was not nearly as bright as the other. Called and called and called DDM. I never got to speak to a live person after 3 calls waiting 50 minutes. I was livid. I sent 3 emails in 5 days and finally got a response. I know it is a lifetime warranty but I would not buy from DDM again.

That being said, I sent back my bulbs and will wait to see what happens. Hope you get through faster than I did. Just giving you a heads up....

I bought a kit from hid depot when I had my Lx and it was plug and play. I will be purchasing the same kit for my new 100.

Not sure if this has been discussed, but I heard that DDM Tuning is changing their business model completely and discontinuing their line of HID kits. This was supposed to be effective after the first week in march, but obviously isn't happening all at once. They are out of stock of the regular (large) ballast size, and only had 35w slim ballast kits available for a while. After checking today, the 55w kits are back in stock, but still only in the slim ballast size. Not sure if the regular ballast kits will be coming back or not.

That is irritating considering I really didn't need or want to pay the extra $10 for the slim ballast kit (especially considering how great my 55w standard ballast kit worked in my yukon), but I think I'm going to pull the trigger on one before they are gone.

The owner said on Bimmerforums a while back that he would be keeping stock on hand to maintain the lifetime warranty, but who knows how long that will last once the kits aren't being produced anymore. Buy while you can if you're on the fence. I'm getting a kit and an extra set of bulbs just to be safe.

DDM will be selling the regular kits again! They wont be available until monday, according to their fb page:)

Good to hear, thanks LJ. I'll keep an eye out. I wonder if their plans have changed regarding phasing out their HID kits? I hope so, they have the best prices around considering their lifetime warranty.

They never had plans of phasing them out! They moved to a bigger location so they had to stop selling some popular items to speed up the moving process

I was worried too because I thought my lifetime warranty would be worthless if they stopped selling lol

After testing the harness out some more I have found that it is working......kind of. It does work, but only when I have the light switch set to on. If I have it set on auto, for some reason the passenger side low does not come on.

Does it send different voltages under the different settings? Is there something I else I could be missing that would cause this? Any thoughts on this? Thanks again.

That sounds like a relay problem. The coil may need higher amperage to get the contacts to close fully and when you go through the AUTO position, you have a higher resistance on that part of the circuit. I know Amazon had some for about 3 bucks or try Lowes, cause they had the same ones for about a buck and a half and swap it out. Please post what you find.

I had the same issue in a 2007 GM. Just manually turn on your lights.

I was seeing a similar problem with mine this morning... flicked it between on and auto a couple of times and then they stayed on in auto. I think I am going to pick up the relay at Lowes this weekend and try a new one. I will post up what I see, or don't see...

LOL....yeah but I like the auto feature. /cry :)

But yeah....seems to be working every time with the On switch.
I like the auto feature as well (and I do miss the auto wipers the GM had too), but it is better for the ballasts to not flicker on and off like what can happen with the auto systems when going through a shady area. Glad to see you at least figured out what the problem was :hillbilly:

I am not the best with electrical stuff, and am not even sure what relay you are talking about. The main one for the headlights? If you could share more info after you complete it with pictures that would be awesome. Thanks.

Yes they did. ;)

An excerpt from the announcement:

"A lot of the products we sell now, we are not going to be selling anymore. Some things we sell we will sell a lot more of and most surprising of all, we are going to move out of HID and a lot of other lighting products within the next several weeks. By the time we get to March 1st which is Apexcone's 10th anniversary, we will be doing something mostly different."

Apparently their plans have changed. Good for us, and good for them. :D

If ddm stops selling HID's, OME should stop making suspension products haha
