Not mine but I thought I would pass this along for you all!

2000 Lexus LX470 1 Owner, 85k miles

I did check it out in person today. The contact is a friend of a friend (original owner) helping with this sale. He does have a recent carfax.

Things I noticed as negative (or opportunity if you see it that way): No accident but rear passenger fender has been reprayed. Not bad but you can tell if you do look. Roof has some dents. Not sure what happened. No timing belt service, ACH doesn't work. Brake fluid is filled too much. Radiator looks original and turning little brown on top. No maintenance history. Passenger side mirror doesn't fold but it does move when you put the car in reverse.

The positive: The car has only 85k and its been a CA car its entire life. I drove it and the idle and drive was good. While the car hasn't been detailed at all, I think the interior could look really nice after a deep cleaning. Underneath has no rust (except some bolts). Some parts has cruds but some parts are super clean. So, deep cleaning in engine bay, underneath would be needed. Paint shows well (besides the repray area).

This could be a good one for someone who has the time and know-how to bring this one back.

Crap! Why could this be in Virginia! Id get rid of the gold logos too and the funky rear spoiler thing.

Odd AHC doesn’t work at 85,000 miles, but that’s only a $2,000 replacement with OME suspension kit.

Surprised it’s still for sale, or not because not worthy of Orange County?

LOL I was just doing a search for the same thing, trying to match the color to what was offered in 2000 and am still puzzled. The light makes it hard.

Cashmere Beige Metallic?

I also saw the car this weekend. I’m a new member and have been in the market for the right 470 for a few months.
Unlike many here, I’m not an expert on these cars, having been a Mercedes/BMW devotee until now, but I will share my thoughts for my interested.

Like the OP, I felt the car drove well and the ride was smooth. I have been looking for an 03-07, so the low miles were what got me interested, and they’re believable. The color is tough, beige metallic sounds correct. Not my favorite...
Was told the car had obviously been garaged, but the faded steering wheel top made that seem odd. I could go on a bit but don’t want to sound like a bashing Yelp reviewer.

The gent selling the car is much more than a friend of a friend. He’s been in the car business for years and supposedly makes a small fortune selling and brokering them from home. Very nice guy and charming, but if I went forward I would definitely have the car given a run-through by a mechanic.

After a timing belt and AHC at minimum, I’d be into the 15k range, and for that much I want to choose better colors or a newer year.
But I’m no overlander, so...

Great forum, btw.
