Yesterday my 2000 Landcruiser was running perfect as always, but this morning as I started to accelerate, it was vibrating badly. The faster I went the worse it got. It has 91000 miles and in great shape. I took it back home and got our 94 Landcruiser. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks

Is the check engine light on? Is this an engine vibration/RPM related? Wheel/driveline related? Can you pull the code, or get it checked? Assuming the vibration is engine related (and not a wheel about to fall off) it is most likely is a failed coil pack as they symptoms are much like you describe, many threads here on it. Basically running on 7 cylinders. But first step is to see if it is throwing a code, and what that says. Most places like Autozone/O'Reilly will read the code for free, or Harbor Freight has code readers for under $50. Let us know.

does the vibration increase with speed or engine RPM

Speed: wheel/tire/suspension/driveshaft

engine RPM: doubtful with no code, check plugs/coils/gaskets for leaking

Check all the following:

Lug nuts
Hub flanges
prop shaft bolts

I was under my truck last night greasing the spider joints and I noticed I was missing one of the 4 forward driveshaft-to-diff bolts. I had a slight shudder from 70-75 but I thought it was tire related. I replaced the bolt and it now it is like driving a Bentley around at a 30 mph. I can't believe the difference. I am going to start being a lot more picky about how my truck should ride from now on.

I agree, we need more info.
Does it happen just with engine RPM's? Or is it only when the vehicle is moving AND rpm's?
It's hard to say over the computer of course, but if it's a fast vibration, I would look into Ujoints. If it's a slower, almost "countable" vibration, I have always looked to a wheel/tire issue.
Again, hard to diagnose stuff like that over the web, but maybe that's a place to start. Good luck!
