So a rock punctured my headlight (driver side) about 6 months ago and left a hole in the glass about a half inch wide. Last night I noticed my high beam on that side is no longer working.

What are my options without going to HID's?

Thats a start goatbeaver and thanks. If i change out the bulb will it just go out again once it gets wet. Rains a lot in Arkansas in the sprang time.:hhmm:

You can get the OEM replacement, check with Beno or Cruiserdan, even with shipping form American toyotam it will still be cheaper than what your local dealer will be able to do:meh:

P/N should be 81059-60072 for the DS light.

There were aftermarket options from Depo and the likes, but are difficult to find for the early 100 series. There also is some bling-o-riffic swill out there in the aftermarket worls, pay the money and replace with OEM.

I googled the part number and it looks like i can get the headlight (w/o the bulbs) for $170. Should i get OEM yota bulbs or replace mine with some better ones? Again I do not want the HIDs. I must say I have been disappointed with the output of my low beams and have hopes that you guys can steer me to a brighter high and low bulb that will be plug n go. THanks/ CLay

if you want plug and play, get HIR bulbs. A quick 'mud search will steer you in the right direction

See if you can get someone to fill it before you pull the trigger on a new assembly.

Bummer this didn't happen two months ago. I sold my broken headlight housing for 20 bucks. The plastic was broke but the glass was not. I've never done it, but if you bake the whole headlight in the oven on low it is possible to separate the glass from the rest of the housing and put new glass on it.

if you buy a new one you're gonna hate your old one on the other side. Huge difference in clarity. I changed my driverside broken one out with a new one and the next week i replaced the passengers side because it annoyed the hell out of me.
I sold the passengers side for $100 on ebay.

:beer:I think a member here has one off his '99 that he will let go as he is getting projectors for HID's. I would love to have new ones but dont want to spend that kind of cheese right now.

I do have a question tho; I searched Amazon for the HIR2 9012 phillips bulb (low beam) and they say it will NOT fit my 2000 LC. I intended to use this bulb for the low beams and have heard there is a tab that has to be trimmed off. What is the bulb number for the high beam? I do know that the high beam bulb i replaced was a 9015 bulb.

If its a 9006 it will fit low beam. 9005 is highbeam. 9015 does not exist.

You just missed mine in the classifieds. Both just sold.
