Good day all,

I have a 2000 LC and I'm having CDL issues. I've read all the threads on 100 CDL and I have the 2004 FSM and the github.io manuals but would like to cross reference the inspection procedure with the 2000 FSM

Does anyone have a 2000 FSM hardcopy on hand that they wouldn't mind taking a few picture of the CDL Inspection pages for me please?

What problems are you having?

I only have 98 and 2001. see if they can help.
Thank you for these, I haven't seen these versions anywhere. Very good resource and much appreciated. Looks to be about the same info in a more detailed format.

What problems are you having?
I had a completely non-functional CDL, no engage or disengage. The CDL has been intermittent at best since I bought the truck. I'm getting ready for a trip and I had to get this fixed. I changed out the CDL switch on the transfer case but it made no difference so i put the original back in.

I ran through all the steps in the FSM except the actuator test. I was convinced that it was a bad PCB behind the HAZ and CDL switches on the dash. The PCB failed the OFF position continuity across pins 1 and 2. I ordered a replacement A965-Y transistor for the TR-20 position, however, when the new transistor arrived, it gave the same outputs as the transistor on the PCB. The PCB turned out to be good which leads me to believe that the FSM is wrong here.

Passed the CDL relay tests. For reference, the actual relay is called a "Transmission Control Relay", behind the Engine ECU to the right.

I finally got to the actuator and built a wiring harness to test it using a Heater/Blower Relay and a 12V battery. Turns out the contacts on the actuator were loose and filthy. Someone had definitely been here before and not done things right. Cleaned up the contacts, connected it up to the relay and it engaged first go!

Needless to say I was relieved that it wasn't a bad motor! Once it was connected back up I could then engage the CDL but not disengage. Changed out the CDL switch on the transfer case again and now it works a charm!
