Has the timing belt and water pump been changed?

Bomar,

I will be honest with you i purchased from a dealership where the previous 1 owner had traded in on a Gwagon. I asked these types of questions but obvioulsy the dealership typically does not have these type of answers to enthusiasts questions. I have not tore into it with that level of detail to determine if they are new or not. I can say that there have not been any signs that would direct me to have concerns related to these items.

In other words No. There would be a sticker that looks like this.

Sounds like a great cruiser but KBB says 16,200 Excellent/14,002 in Fair......

99,000 miles is low but $$$ seem a bit high-IMHO:meh:
WIth that kinda price alot more pictures may justify it:clap:

Good luck with sale:cheers:

Yotachief,

If the timing belt has been replaced, the above referenced sticker will be affixed to the top of the radiator. Easy check and huge selling point if it's been done.

Beautiful Cruiser.

That's not exactly accurate. Ma and pa shops may not bother affixing the sticker, assuming the kit came with one. Some places might forget, like the Toyota dealer that did the t-belt/water pump on my ES300.

Conversely speaking, a particularly shifty seller could buy the kit and slap the sticker on there without performing any actual maintenance.

Just playing 'devil's advocate'. ;)

Oh, and the price is high, especially if the t-belt/water pump has NOT been done, or you aren't sure (in which case folks like us will assume it hasn't been done).
