It's the gear oil. 35 dollars a quart and 150 in labor. Some kind of long life synthetic oil. Guess my 5 gallons of gear oil is a waste.

Called another toyota dealer, same price.

Thats crap…. Heck I use Lucas gear oil in everything I own…. Its $$ but worth it.

For 5 gallons its still cheaper & I bought hand pump for 5 gallon buckets at tractor supply.

Easy job...

@MEMCruiser , I haven't done mine yet, but I will def be doing it myself and not paying a knucklehead $450

For the 200 Series, I would go with an sustainably grown, fair trade, cold pressed, gluten-free Extra Virgin Olive Oil. A 25% California/75% Greek blend is good for our climate.

Get 4 ramps and drive up on them for this job. Makes it 5x easier with the extra room to move around, especially if you have step boards and no lift

and... I will add that it is gouging like this that would keep me from ever doing business with that kind of stealership again.

Would amisoil 75w 90 gl5 work or
Redline 75W-85 GL5 ?

Yes or go to autozone or similar and buy mobil 1. I think it is $6 or 8.
Syn will just allow you to run it longer than standard gear oil.

Just FYI, uncovered searching for Trey's 100.

Gray Daniels in Jackson has an 08 200 that was traded in on Saturday with 96000 miles. They are asking 25k. Gold color. Great buy if it checks out.
