The wife and I are looking for a newer'ish car for her. Her 06 Pilot has over 300K on it and runs great, but its got the weird noises and seems there is a new one each day. We found a 2010 200 series that seems nice(have yet to see and drive it) and I just don't know enough about them. Pros and Cons?? I absolutely hate the thought of a car payment. We haven't had one of those in years. Also open to opinions on other SUV's

Can't go wrong with a 200 and that 5.7
Depending on LC or LX will determine checking rust on kdss valve or AHC lines. Otherwise check for hairline crack on radiator and coolant valley leak

See, this is what I'm talking about. WTF is kdss and AHC lines? I don't want to buy a new car now. Never mind.

Just asked Ol' Bob google about AHC. Is this problematic?

Pros? It’s a landcruiser.

Cons? They suck at most measurables compared to the competition (cost, mpg, weight, tech, etc..).

Unmaintained/rusty AHC can be problematic. Maintained it’s an amazing system and is rather robust. It’s been around since 1998 on the LX.

If that scares you just go with the LC200.

If you don’t need the size, consider a GX460 as well.

As Paul said. Only time I've seen it be problematic in the 200 section is rusty lines, otherwise bleeding to exchange fluid is similar to bleeding brakes.

Doubt you'd go for a rusty truck in the first place

A Lexus is cheaper than a comparable Land Cruiser, and the wife will like it better. Just got one for Rhea and she loves it. The hydraulic suspension system discussed above is really, really nice. I suppose you just have to make sure it is not rusting to pieces. The whole package is a smooth ride.

So after talking to her more, she prefers the 80 more. 62 even more. I think the 200 is out. Price is a huge thing as well.
She's a cruiser head so that makes me happy. She drives our '76 40 more than me.

Probably for the best. Other than being a great stealth Landcruiser and the last great NA V8, they don't make a lot of objective sense unless you have money to burn or need a mid/large SUV with credible tow numbers.

Family members have a very late 2021. Beautiful in the heritage edition. Very well put together. Mileage is the same as my Tundra, often slightly worse. This may be due to the AWD arrangement.

We have a 5th Gen T4R made around the same time. The 200 is nicer, feels a bit bigger inside... but you've really got to want it, or need to tow, at 2x the cost.
