200 Series Engine Swap Options

Putting some closure on this:
5.7 Tundra engine swapped in. All oil leaks fixed. Tundra engine does not have low oil sensor that the LC engine has/had. Not a problem.
Approx 600 miles on the replacement engine now. All is good so far.......

Thanks for sharing the good news! It's good to know the US made 5.7 works well for swapping. Would you mind sharing the approx. cost? (I had a swap done on a LS430 years ago with a used JDM engine. But I know it's a different story for the 200 series which costs a lot more. So hope to have this in mind if I ever need to do it for an LC.)

It is truly great that this has been confirmed as an option, vs the speculation we had before.

Just note that finding an engine supplier to provide a warranty on a tundra engine put into a 200 will be a whole different ordeal.

The other big issue is that I have no VIN number from the donor vehicle....unknown.......unfortunately.....

Thanks for the breakdown. Looks like it could be done sub-10k if you can supply your own labor and find a donor engine without needing cam tower reseal.

I think I mis-read that your Toyota parts were also from eBay, but just the motor?

Correct. Engine only from ebay. Marketed as a JDM engine with approx 80k miles. Ebay seller had 10,000 positive feedbacks, if one can believe those.
