I think there was a 5.4L f150 ford where you had to tilt/etc the engine for the rear plugs iirc. Per a guy I used to work with who had one anyways. I never owned one, but thought that was obscene for a domestic truck to require that.
You lucky if those 5.4 plugs came out in one piece. That Ford 3 valve head has a well deserved place in hell along with a few other Ford things.

Yeah, I recall changing plugs in the 5.4l v8 & 6.8l v10 being just hell. They even make a specialized extraction and thread repair tool for broke plugs because it was so common.

The V35A spark plug change doesn't scare me, to be honest. Just need enough ratchets and time. Wear gloves to keep your soft hands beautiful for the next hand-modeling photo shoot.

Yeah, that video didn't seem too bad. Mainly just moving harnesses and crap out of the way. How anyone would charge $1000 for that is insane.

Book rate is 2.2 hrs on this V35 spark plug job. So labor charge would be about $375/hr!

Agreed. I’ve done some tough ones before but as long as tool engages well and they don’t break it’s ok. Anything is possible with enough extensions, u joints, and wabbles.

Plus probably $80 a pop for spark plugs because Toyota.

Looks like 90919-01263 is $15~ a pop.
Maybe from a online parts retailer. From your local Toyota dealer for a spark plug job im sure you are paying way more than that.
