Rookie to the board here so bare w/ me:

1) When i throw my fj60 '84 in reverse (over 30X), my windshield wiper's fuse blows......not a problem....looked at the chassis electrical system and found the connection between the two fuses (reverse tail light fuse and wiper fuse) is the HEADLIGHT CLEANER RELAY--------- index 12-28 HAYENS
Where's this relay??????? Cant find it...im going crazy

2) first let me say i think im an idiot for letting this happen w/o notice, that said, my ac belt shredded off the pulley and ended up getting wrapped around the back of the crankshaft pulley? (harmonic something?) Question is can i remove that huge 1 13/16 in. bolt ?What do i need to know specifically after i remove the belts and before i remove the bolt? Whats torque specifications?

any recommendations greatly appreciated.....

First, GET A FACTORY SERVICE MANUAL, "FSM" (See avatar for visual reference)

Second, Welcome to Mud

The head light washer relay is located under the drivers side dash with almost all the other relays. I can not remember the exact location, it may be behind the plastic kick panel by your left foot. It will have some rather large gauge red and white wires feeding in and out of it and should be labeled.

I would try cutting the remnants of the belt off rather than attempt to remove the harmonic balancer/crank pulley.
There are a bunch of ways to remove the pulley that have been talked about in length on this forum, a search will provide you with much more valuable information than I could possibly spout off of the top of my head. They are all quite involved projects that require some large tools to accomplish.
Good Luck, and remember that the FSM is the most important tool in your tool box.

thanks for the advice......i'll look for the relay there even though the haynes book has no location for it...and the belt is so wrapped around the harmonic balancer i cant easily cut it off but i'll definitely try again....where do i get the Factory Service Manual..How much is it?

thanks again kevin

Ahh, I don't remember the cost of the manuals, the one you need at the moment will be the engine manual.

Look up "cruiser dan", Cdan on this forum. He is the Mud parts source and wont rip you off on price. He heads up the parts department at American Toyota. Search those words and I know his contact info is there somewhere.

Same thing with the crank pully. There is a variety of options for its removal, lots of great info you can glean from what others have posted.

Post up if you still can't find that relay and I will go look for the exact location.

Good luck.
