i bought a 10,000 pound super winch from Princess auto and it came with no winch plate. Does asnyone know where i could find a winch plate? i am having difficulty finding one in the okanagan.

I am considering extending the front frame rails and mounting a winch plate on top of the extension, then mounting the stock bumper on the end of the extensions. has anyone done this and do you have pictures?

That sounds similar to the OEM winch mount. The bumper extensions are replaced with longer ones, and there is an angle and a front cross member added to beef it up. You can look through the 60 registry for pics. The OEM winch bumper sticks out way far. It really kills your approach angle.

Hi All:

Are you speaking of a Superwinch Husky 10K electric winch?

If so, a friend of mine did exactly what you mentioned about ten years ago on his FJ60. Had a welding shop extend the front frame rails a short distance, and add a winch plate on top and the factory bumper on the front.

Regards,

Alan

Post up on the Okanagan Similkameen club thread. Marlin375 does good fab-work, he might have some ideas for you. He's in Vernon.
