Did a little run looking for snow today. two 4runners. A second gen with a 3rd gen motor in it and my green third gen.
Found myself a little body damage and the sad sight of a murdered FJC. Beautiful area up there minus the trash left by some. It would be a great place to hold a "Tread Lightly" course to show an example what can happen.
Pics and words are up on SoazTim

First pic is what it looked like at my house all weekend. What area?

Wonder what the story is on that FJ? Looks like something you'd find a corpse in.

The first pic is up on top of 4 peaks out... I can't remember the trail number. A nice little loop though.
There was so much trash out there. It was pitiful. I'm going to organize a cleanup. Stay posted for early next month.

I think I've been on that trail years ago when I had my '72 cruiser, had to check it out on the way back from Payson. Just east of Pumkin Center, right? Too bad it's been trashed.

Exactly. We started on the Highway 87 or beeline highway side. Went up top and then did a little loop that was more difficult than the main road. Really pristine up top except for the occasional bud light can.
I'm going out there to clean-up on February 9th. The Forest Service will provide bags and remove the filled bags. There will be a couple of give aways as well, but its fun for the whole family either way. :D

Tonto is calling the area from Butcher Jones to 4 Peaks an "ORV" area, which unfortunately attracts loads of quads and shooters, ie drunks that leave tons of trash.:o Post up over on the CSC forum and you will probably get help/support for a cleanup.
