Hello. Can any one point me in the right direction for adapting my 1uz fe motor to the factory auto configuration on a 79 series Landcruiser Prado with a 3l motor? I have no part numbers as truck arrives Monday. I'm a mechanical novice on my first journey so any help on where and what to buy for conversion would be massive. Cheers.

Do a search here in the 70 series section here, as there was a fellow from New Zealand who did this swap. I think the electrical part of it was the most challenging part (making the EFI 1uzfe run, and getting the electronic auto transmission to work right).
Popluar conversion for Hilux, might try a search for that as well fro more info.

non VVTI 1UZ would not require more than 6 wires ( having the complete stuff .. ECU, harness etc ) to run ..
Most owners in Australia go for the Buick/Holden V6 into the light duty cruiser(and Hilux). Lots of kits and the engines are cheap and plentiful and you can get some good HP out of them
