Hey been awhile since Ive been on here, but I picked up a 89 1st gen 4runner and need some parts to get the rear tailgate opening again. I need the part on the bottom of the window that connects to the window regulator. The track assembly I believe. I tried looking for the parts diagram in the link in the FAQ here, but they no longer show the diagrams. Anybody know the part number or better yet, have a link or picture of the part diagram?

On a side note, just got done doing the valve cover gaskets on it(has the 3vze engine) and what was Toyota thinking when they designed the v6??? What a pain!!! Im not looking foward to doing the timing belt on it either. I can hear the upper idler bearing groaning and just ordered the parts.

She's got 230k on it and am hoping I dont run into the all to familar headgasket trouble anytime soon. Doing headgaskets on this thing looks like a nightmare.

Thanks in advance

the track goes down the sides, there is a metal bar thing that leaves out the bottom of the tail-gate, that i think helps keep the window on track, but main job is to take some of the weight off the gate when lowering it, my window works fine, and that piece has been missing since i bought the truck.

Are we talking bout the same vintage 4runner? Mine is the first gen. I need the piece that is on the bottom of the glass, there is actually 2 of them. The rollers on the window regulator slide in them to push the window up and down. Mine are completely rotted and the window jumps off the regulator all the time. I just wana get the part number so I can shop for it on line. My local dealer is outragous in pricing and not very helpful at all. I dont go there unless its a last resort.

ok i know what you are talking about now, you might call c dan to see if they still make them, they are not easy to get off the glass, one of mine is shot, but it still goes up and down, every once in a while i have to re set it on top the roller. and yes i have an 84 4 runner, i did get one for my wifes 95 4runner, in 2001, now the other side on hers is shot.
