I have 1994 HZJ80 which seems to have occasional issue of the pump keeps clicking off at the pump like its already full at the fuel station. This vehicle have a single main tank only with 95L capacity.

Recently, it has gotten much worse and it has been clicking off like 10-15 times no matter slow or fast speed at the nozzle but luckily I still managed to get it refuel. I have already tried different pumps and it is still the same.

Since this vehicle does not have those emission canister type that have in the gasoline models. I was think of checking the breather/vent. However, I have no idea where it is.

Checking online using my vehicle chassis number I have located the fuel tank diagram. However, I have a few enquiries as to which one is the breather as even with the chassis number, sometimes it list parts that does not have in your model such as from gasoline models.

Looking at the diagram below I have located what seems to be the fuel vent valve where Toyota listed it as the fuel cutoff valve. Is this the breather vent valve?

This seems to be the fuel cut off valve highlighted in red on the previous diagram.

Upon further searching of the main tank part number for my chassis, this is the fuel tank I found on google using the part number.

The number 1 listed is what Toyota list as fuel vent valve with the fuel cut off valve inside. I have no idea what the number 2 is which is next to the lower filler neck I presume?

I would really appreciate the insights and feedback on which one might be causing this frustating issue. Thank you!

The breather hose ends inside the crossmember near the tank. Check it hasn't gotten blocked up with mud
Thank you for the reply.
I noticed a small hole at the filler neck which upon further searching it leads to the number 2 at the lower filler neck which is listed as the breather. It seems to be a thinner line together with the filler neck tube as highlighted in the diagram. Should I just shoot compressed air through from the top at the gas cap? I am worried about crud entering the tank. Also, what is the function of the fuel cutoff valve from the pictures above?

I guess the valve is to stop fuel exiting the tank when it's full

There's a breather that allows expansion and contraction with the firm cap in place.
Then there also a breather/ vent tube to let air escape when refuelling

Okay thank you. I will try to look for the breather hose as my gas cap is brand new oem.
